If rumours of an Eagles fallout are true, and he is out of contract at the end of the season, with no way of resolving the issue, then I'd be tempted to sell him. Otherwise I personally think we'd be mental to consider anything short of £4m for him. Whether you like him or not, you can't argue that he can be different class in this division; he's one of those players that gives you something extra going forward. Every club needs a player of his ilk if they're going to push towards promotion. If he's happy we'd be daft to sell.

Make no mistake about it, Birmingham City are not a big club. They've spent the majority of their history in the second tier, and despite a recent league cup win, I'd put us down as a bigger club on honours alone. Similarly, Getafe for example are based in a massive city, but they're a small club in the grand scheme. The city of Birmingham has very much been dominated by Villa.

On the subject of N'Gog, I gave up on him a long time ago. He has so much talent, but simply cannot apply the attributes that he has whatsoever, and especially not on a consistent basis. He very rarely produces anything of note, doesn't get himself in goalscoring positions, and when he does he takes too long to get a shot away or tries to do too much. One of his best qualities tends to be picking the ball up in a deep position and ghosting past players, but even then he does too much or makes the wrong pass. I get the opinion that he doesn't care enough, nor takes the game seriously enough either. It's bizarre having such a talented set of players, yet we're starting with those with a lot less talent and that alone is where the majority of the problem lies. Determination and hunger really are the difference at this level. Give me a team of Shaun Derrys and Clint Hills any day. I don't think Bogdan is a problem. McNaughton I've always liked. Solid but unspectacular. Ream is proving to be a revelation. I'm still maintaining that Mills is a clogger, but his no-nonsense style of play compliments Reams' footballing ability well. Baptiste was up against their most threatening player and did a job, despite being on his weaker side. Feeney was fantastic; it's so exciting to have a winger that will run at a full back all day. Medo and Spearing I feel have struggled to do the job asked of them this season, but they now have a defence behind them that should give them more confidence, and both had a decent game on Saturday. I especially think that Medo is capable of performing at a higher level. Pratley wasn't at his best but the lad won't stop running, he makes great runs and helps out defensively as had been said. Danns I've never rated, but if he's playing in a winning team and scoring it's difficult to drop him. I'm not convinced by him though. He gives the ball away too often. Then there's Beckford; I knew he'd score as soon as he gambled on that ball, which hasn't been the case previously this season. He should have buried that header, but it's great to have confidence in your striker when one-on-one like that, long may it continue. I really hope we haven't seen the last of Eagles though. He can be frustrating and greedy, but he really can turn things around at any time. On his day he can be the most threatening player in the league. I have to add that Birmingham were shite. Then again I often think that about most teams in this league sometimes. Yeovil were a terrible outfit the week before.

Not at all taking the credit for it. I'm merely suggesting that I came up with an idea of trying Ream at centre half and you knocked me down as if it was a laughable idea. Thus far, my suggestion has worked. If we put Gregus in the side I'm all for it. The difference is, I haven't knocked down your idea, whereas you gave me abuse for my suggestion of Ream at centre half, which has paid off. By trying to claim I'm the idiot when it wasn't as farfetched as you claimed makes you look more of a cunt. Just accept it.

You knocked down my Ream at centre half and suggested that it had been "almost universally disastrous". Fair point considering his previous performances in that position, but I was of the opinion that we couldn't do much worse, and it was worth a go. As a result, he's shown promise and we actually kept a clean sheet last night. You also hoped I wasn't Dougie in disguise as result of my suggestion. He's made the change, and after two games, Ream hasn't put a foot wrong. What have I done to suggest I'm not very bright again?

I'm still cursing not beating Yeovil, but we could and should have got three points there. Unbeaten in two and an away clean sheet at high-flying Blackpool. Onwards and upwards!

I don't mind the lad, I find some of his films decent, doesn't take himself too seriously and I reckon he'd be a good laugh. I do however find it outrageous that he's going down the route of soaps, but fair play to him. Of course I'm only posting so that I can have another look at that picture of Ellison later

He livens things up, that's for sure. There's plenty games where the opposition defence looks comfy until he comes on and upsets the rhythm. We need our strikers to make an impact. This lad, though not the most talented is capable. He certainly almost made his mark at Burnley on the opening day

I'd say almost a third less games than you estimated was a terrible guess, but alright then. Davies came on against a struggling Bristol City side last season and turned the game on it's head. He made a real difference at Forest and Leicester too. He scored a good 13 goals for Barnsley last season before joining us, and you could probably count his league starts for us on one hand. I'm not his biggest fan, but we need a presence up front, and when fit I'd give him a chance if things don't improve. Impressed with Ream in midfield, but instead of having two cloggers at the back I'm suggesting Ream can be a ball playing centre half who can bring if forward and give us another dimension when we're in possession. Playing Pratley behind the striker could effectively give us five in midfield too to help with the "flood the midfield" theory.

As opposed to Beckford who's shown nothing, and N'Gog who couldn't score in a brothel? He's scored goals at this level before, and how many of those thirty (bollocks thirty games) have been starts?! I agree Ream has struggled there, especially at this level, but it's not as if any of our defenders are excelling right now is it? At least with him at the back we'll have someone who can put a foot on the ball and bring it forward. We need to control this game.

Is Craig Davies still out? If not, I'd be tempted to start him on Saturday. I think he's clumsy and hasn't got much in terms of footballing talent. However, he's effective and although he hasn't shone when starting previously, he's capable of being a greater presence than N'Gog and Beckford have this season. I'm also tempted by Ream at centre half. It'd be good to have someone decent on the ball at the back, and we need to go for this.

RV, did you have a spell sharing the announcing duties in the early days of the Reebok? I'm sure I remember we had two announcers at one point or am I imagining it?

Precisely how I see it. I've never known any trouble with speeding on Babylon Lane, although I'll admit it's sort of understandable with a Primary school there. The most frustrating thing about Babylon Lane is people being simple when there's easily enough room to fit two cars going both ways the majority of the time.
