    Really wish I went 😞

I’m a bit gutted personally. I believe football is for all- the more kids we get playing, the better kids we’ll get. Maybe start open 3v3 younger? Dunno… loads of kids can’t get in teams, not enough volunteers, no facilities etc… as soon as FA suggest a different format to increase ball mastery and involvement, folk complain. They’ll be moaning about an extra couple of teams in the play offs next 😂
  3. Some right dinosaurs here 😂 Things evolve, rightly or wrongly. It’s like when you go to Tesco (Walkden especially) and they’ve moved the aisles- I hate the cunts, have a strop, but ultimately carry on. Like the champions league etc they are all businesses and will try to maximise every penny.

Confirmed The BBDFL is pleased to confirm that the league will be adopting The FA’s new Youth Development Pathway. From the 2026/27 season, this will introduce revised age-appropriate playing formats designed to support player development and increase involvement in the game. The updated pathway will see U7s play 3v3 football, U8–U9 play 5v5, U10–U11 play 7v7, U12–U13 play 9v9, with the transition to 11v11 moving to U14 level. These changes aim to maximise ball contact, improve technical development and ensure young players progress through formats suited to their age and stage of development. So, despite my personal thoughts, my club are bypassing this and entering a team a year up- which will likely see them at a disadvantage.

That’s messed up. Poor kids, surely they could work around it somehow?

There was an old all weather pitch near is growing up. Like playing on gravel. A few games won on aggregate 😂
  9. Other than the score I have no recollection of Stoke at Wembley

Nothing smells nicer than the freshly mown pitch for that first game of preseason. Still takes me back to being a kid. Jean Paul Gaultier Classique in second place

Development is more important than a win. Confidence will grow

I did tell you; he’s just got something… doesn’t have to bounce, call people out, act a nob head etc. just got charisma
  13. Solid, solid keeper. Shame how his career panned out with injuries. Steve Banks wasn’t bad, might be remembered for a soft hand v Ra Ras Mark Howard played a sublime ball on survival Sunday that gets overlooked… just chilled and handed his gloves to Col H grandson as he left the pitch- now at Salford Andy Lonergan- again solid, can’t remember him putting a foot wrong, and for a back up kept, us in the promotion race. I could add Gavin Ward, and Matty Gilkes the latter more as cover for the inexperienced and far from ready Crellin, but I don’t recall any of the above dropping a clanger. We are the backbone of the team, literally the first name on the sheet… so underrated and overlooked
  14. 👀 no comment although I do recall a game for RMI under summat, I was sent for an early bath. Unfortunately for said ref, he rocked up same time as us in a clapped out rover modelling a mullet listening to Meatloaf. This was in the days of foot pumps so he might still be there now
  15. Stockport They have been the bane of my life for a few years. We owe them, but I don’t want to risk a train ride home with them
  16. Him and Joe Mason looked half decent together
  17. God I’m jealous. Have a great day you bastards. Re Demps; pretty sure he’s isn’t #1 in the ‘vital stats’, but he doesn’t stop and he’s up there where it counts. Will throw a good corner in, will score a few, gets stuck in. All rounder
