Did Lincoln not make over a million loss last year because they paid bigger wages than everyone else ?

Obvs your joking but listen to how the media and people in the game talk about Keith Hill - develops youngsters, plays football, shoestring budget, punching above their weight and add in him being a Bolton lad and he sounds like a shoe-in. We'd be a league 2 team season 2020/21 with him at the helm though, and also his ppm isn't up to it from my numbers pov. His ex-partner Flitcroft has the numbers and a Bolton link though and is available...

Trying to look at it with no sentiment and no further EFL penalty I reckon we are looking at 63 points to stay up, 51 plus the -12. That works out that we need someone who has managed at an average of 1.37 points per match for most of their career and looking at the numbers Rowett would be very much in the mix.

Think you can have 8 loans but only name 5 in a matchday squad.

Them playing football is neither here nor there, you could get a middle aged Karl Henry to play against him and it would nullify him. That's why he's League 1 at best and that's why he is never going to pull up trees in the Championship.

So true, same people who believe it also believe that Oztumer is a genius based on a goal he scored at our place and a performance against a 10 man team of ours away.

Totally dependent on whether or not I've had a piss during proceedings.

Dead To Me series 1 was ok but not sure I'll watch series 2, The Rain series 2 was ok but not sure I'll do 3, couldn't sleep last night and started What/If which has that Bridget Jones lass in doing some truly piss poor acting. Wife's been trying to get me to watch The Good Pllace but I've not given it a go yet.

Really won me over did Beevers, would have actually kept him over any other defender and thought he improved over his time with us. And then he refused to play so as outlined above he can fuck off.

Did notice that only Jordan Boon retweeted the news yesterday but you can read into that whatever you choose to. Personally I can't see Connell ever wearing a Wanderers shirt again.

I remember back in the day when I used to watch WRLFC I'm sure they used to have an A team game (not Face, Mr T et al) before the first team fixtures and you'd get folk on having a beer and a pint. I know football is different especially these days, stewarding, policing, no ale on footy terraces, players needing a bowling green to play on, but you'd have to think we can do something more. Although running through everything is like loads of others have said, people in Bolton by and large don't really care or at least care enough to even turn out to home games.

See Akinfenwa is available, one of my eldest's favourite memories is seeing him and Shittu stood next to each other in that league cup game and wondering if I'd taken him to a WWE event instead of football.

Is that a serious post or is it that deeply sarcastic I might have missed it?

Surely taking or having to take that PNE donation is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened, even worse than Normid.

This happened somewhere I used to work at and they called everyone in to the warehouse and some young lad in his early 20s who hadn't even bothered to do his tie up properly told us we were all redundant almost with a smile on his face. Will never know if a straight tie would have made the day better for us but knowing someone who works at the hotel and hasn't been getting paid I hope it goes better for them this afternoon.

Beach and sea for me as well, probably South Wales as go there a lot on holiday and really like it. It's easy to be negative about Bolton but the centre and estates etc are the same everywhere and we are blessed with a lot of really nice surroundings that a lot of folk miss, get out on the West Lanky moors for example and they as nice as anything you will find in the UK.

Think he meant ching ching for Connell not us, his contract is up anyway and we will just get minimal compensation for him being a second year academy person or whatever they call it these days. We should really have sold him when there was interest in the last window but it was a decision that was never going to be made.
-
I'll go along with this as I'm seeing the same thing - I'd struggle to get someone to jump back on for a game with a free ticket but my lad did probably 35 league games last season and one of his mates did all 45. They don't understand why everyone their age doesn't go with it being so cheap and people our age wonder why anyone goes at all.
-
Wife did Limitless on Netflix over a weekend and it was summat like 22 eps and she usually is films rather than series. I'm halfway through Dead To Me which features Christina Applegate talking about cock and stabbing people in the twat which might have added appeal to people over 45 who remember her.

On a different note, have people who are going to renew just left their DD as they are or have you cancelled them until the shit storm is hopefully over and the new season tickets are announced ?

There's never a bad time for this but with it being an historic day for the club here's a very rare mention of us in a tune https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=POO4nk8l-FQ

One of the young lads here needed some practise with grabbing data and pivot tables and the like and he tells me that out of 106 clubs who have played league football in the last 10 seasons we have the 98th worst points per game and the 97th worst wins/games ratio. He might well be wrong as he's a Blackburn fan and I'd be happy to pot him if he's made us look worse than we really are.

Been getting more worried as the day has gone on and remembered the chapter in Soccernomics that is entitled "The Worst Business In The World : Why Football Clubs Haven't Made Money". The last paragraph is this, and it gave me a bit a lift for at least 10 seconds : "Unlike most businesses, football clubs survive crises because some of their customers stick with them no matter how lousy the product. Calling this brand loyalty is not quite respectful enough of sentiment involved. To quote Rogan Taylor, a Liverpool fan and Liverpool University professor, 'Football is more than just a business. No one has their ashes scattered down the aisle in Tesco.' " That's our club and season in a nutshell at the moment, let's hope the outcome for us follows as well.

Do You Support the Players Strike? Yes/No
ErnestTurnip replied to Ruba Mustafa's topic in Terrace Talk
He was at an inclusive sports thing the other week that one of mine was at and even though none of them would have even known who he was he was absolutely brilliant with them all. Not sure he can be faulted for his efforts for the club in the wider community. -
New challenge for him and his family makes me wonder if he might be going down under.
