  1. For me they are by far the best team going forwards I've seen in the league, overall I don't think they are as good as Wilder's lot but time will tell. We've been in the shit as a club and a team a lot longer than PP or KA have been around and we need to look at and think about why and think about what that means for us especially if there's no sugar daddy on the horizon. As a general aside, looking at the crowd again today you always speak or read people who mention closing the upper tiers but for financial reasons could we end up being a club who closes downstairs altogether?

  3. Took the 25, season starts here etc etc etc

  5. I've had a fiver on us at 13/2, season starts here etc etc etc
  6. Connell made loads of mistakes last night that would have got Noone for example crucified by the crowd. He isn't Messi, he might not even be Bannan but he sees how the fans behave and he'd probably sign a contract for Rochdale if they came in tonight for him. Donaldson did everything he could possibly do last night, was far better than Ameobi who really is stealing a living most of the time. Don't get people booing Lowe if he even puts a foot wrong, for me if he isn't there doing the thankless work he does we would be gone already. Realistically we are 2 wins away from where we need to be so it's still very much game on for staying up. From reading on here it seems to me like a lot of folk on here would carry on supporting ie paying to watch regardless of level we were at so drama queening or claiming losing 4-2 every week but playing tipi tapi football would be better is a load of bollocks. If KA was confirmed today as owner and PP as manager with same players as we have now I would renew my season ticket now, not cos I'm an uber fan like most here just cos that's the truth. Know this reply has been disjointed but last thing is that far fewer people where I am in ESU left early last night, initially thought they had stayed to boo but that wasn't it at all, leave that open as to why it was though.
  7. Not saying I agreed with her on everything but it was my eldest daughter's first game since Nov 2008 and within 15 minutes she had come to the conclusions that those throwing the tennis balls were bell ends, Donaldson was shit, Ameobi was lazy, Olkowski got forward without realising he might have to get back, and that although she couldn't really see him she fancied Noone because of the way he carried himself. After the game she also said that it was she wouldn't mind coming again which made me wonder if the stuff you read in the press about teenagers and recreational drug use might have more than a bit of truth in it.
  8. Problem I've been having is that people I know who are anti Ken seem totally obsessed and blinkered by that and only want to talk about that and only believe anything that fits in with their belief, it's almost like a religion with them.
  9. Is this factually correct? A CIC can have both bank accounts and employees, loads of sports clubs are set up as CIC and operate on a not-for-profit basis (which this one Allanson has set up does as well because it's in their articles). Not saying you are wrong btw just wondering what you've based it on?
  10. I know this might seem an odd question and I wasn't sure where to ask it but are Lifeline/Goldline in some way separate to normal club finances or is it all pissing in the same pot?
  11. Should that have said "doing something that is nothing" ?
  12. If we go into administration I wonder who would be at front of the queue to buy a cut price hotel they could use as a flagship for their personal environmental agenda? Can't think of anyone off the top of my head...
  13. They might be a bit leftie and right on in parts for some folk but if you've never given David Peace or John King a go then they are worth a read.
  14. A nice 2-0 win giving us 20 points from 20 games and bang on target for staying up, which was the realistic aim for the season for most folk before a ball was kicked.
  15. Thought Olkowski was struggling from the first minute and he was trying to go off with what looked like his right ankle from early in the second half. Listening to GMR before and people calling for David Lee need to go and watch some U23 and realise what it is.
  16. If players like Wheater,ALF, Vela ended up with a season not even on the bench because of their strike action then their careers would be over but they've made a conscious decision that they'll be fine because it's BWFC and that's where they think we are as a club. It might well be the case but there isn't one person in the squad who is worth keeping with that attitude surely?
  17. I've been more wondering if Wheater has been in and out because of a long term problem rather than any bonus worries. He's looked to me like he is really struggling physically and I honestly wouldn't be too shocked if he retired after we stay up on Sunday.
  18. Angostura 1919 is really nice drunk neat, bit pricey but one of the supermarkets did used to have offers on it now and then (think it was Sainsbury's).
  19. Robinson having one of them days where if he went to pick his nose he'd poke his eye out instead.
  20. I know they don't get much protection but Beevers, Burke, and Wheater were all piss poor yesterday making schoolboy errors like getting on the wrong side of people and making some bad decisions you wouldn't expect of an apprentice. Wheater must still be playing through an injury because he looks no where near being match fit, was watching him the other week and he took an age to get back and he just didn't look like he was at the races at all yesterday.
  21. I asked the question to Supporters Direct about having multiple Trusts and although they were a bit vague it very much came across that you can have mutliple supporters trusts but Supporters Direct will only help one to get themselves set up as a legal entity, sort of first up best dressed maybe ?
  22. Couldn't get my head around why Dervite was playing inside Burke rather than the other way around but that was just one thing on a long list.
  23. Honestly felt to me like we played more of a 4 last night and Darby was far more comfortable staying at right back with Little in front of him. The work and effort and desire was there last night and little things like Wilbraham looking leaner and fitter than he did against Crewe make me think that PP and his staff are doing the right things away from match day even if it sometimes goes tits up like it did last Saturday.
  24. Was bored one night early last season and went over there to watch them play Curzon Ashton, they're desperate for league footy and to be as professional as possible and it shows - went in the away end with my young lad and they frisked and wanded both of us and no doubt the other 21 Curzon supporters on the terrace that night.
