  1. Interesting, sort of defensive, interview with IE in today's MEN. Needs to find a balance in the formation, 433 worked OK except chances were missed, ball's in weren't what they might have been, poor decision making in the final ⅓rd, need more composure. Sounds like he's beating himself up a bit.
  2. So they are saying, but looking at the ground there were plenty of large spaces, areas closed off and loads of vacant seats. 9,500 is their current absolute maximum. I suspect, being live on tv as well, the 9,000 claim is, as they say, "complicated".
  3. Some enjoyable results in the Prem this weekend too. Stretford 3-1 down, Wolves & Everton lost. Fingers crossed for Spurs pissing all over the red Scouse shite later on. I do wonder if some 'elite' players are fearing injury for the upcoming World Cup.
  4. Same with the big throw guy from Cheltenham, and £8k pw suggested for Kyle McFazdean. Really chucking the money about. Crowds are good, in the 8-9,000 most games and there is enormous enthusiasm in the town but that doesn't mean they're trading sustainably. If they don't get up this season there's a big bubble to burst.
  5. We'll be represented at Wembley in May. It being 2023 & all that. Maybe Santos riding in on a white horse.
  6. Pleased to see Dapo out there, though still concerned he just isn't a wing back. Also pleased to see Sadlier getting a start up front. For all our immediate lack of form that is still a vg squad with many quality players not getting starts. ... & Dixon.
  7. I was at this. I think a Derek Kevan was playing for Citeh.
  8. It all went to shit when they stopped giving no-tails Domestic Science lessons.
  9. How's the 'orrible Brit from Ulster doing ?
  10. This. Hope he can recover and that the club treat him well too. Could be career ending that, at any level.
  11. Fake news too. They've done the 'season ticket holders count whether there or not' trick. Stoke, even in the doldrums, would have brought a good few too.
  12. It seems to be a new pokucy for refs to be more stringent on time wasting ... at least in the 2nd half, when I guess, most of it is done. Which is a good thing, whether it goes for or against my club. It my be better though if the message was made more directly and it ceased being so common. I wonder if if happens as much in televised ganes whenn those extra minutes might impact tv schedules ?
  13. Genuinely struggling to have the faintest enthusiasm for this. I couldn't even tell you when it all begins. Obviously if, & it's a sizeable 'if' England start looking the part I may build up a bit but even that will be muted. Wrong region, wrong country, wrong time of year. Corruption to get it, corruption to allot it and more things wrong with the place than right. Costs to get there and to be there ludicrous. .... & that's before I sit, mouth agape, when they announce the squad.
  14. Players not getting games will leave in January. Thete are a few decent players not getting out thete much. I fear Dapo will be sold as he just doesn't fit the preferred forrmation, nor is he a wing back. That will be a terrific loss to us. Sadlier, Aimson, John and one of the excess midfield players, plus Dixon if anyone would take him are in my mind. He has to lose some if he has eyes on new faces.
  15. Yep. Harsh & maybe wrong but I'm getting no reason to expect much. Certainly not yetawhile.
  16. If you trot onto Liverpool's RAWK fan site you'll see that KloppOut is notably less rare than a couple of months ago. Plus, apparently, the club needs to start spending.
  17. Let's not mix up respecting him with agreeing with everything he does. His wing back & possession football requires converting that possession quickly into penetrative play. Currently we aren't doing that. Opponents have learnt and he's not adapting quickly enough. I don't want him gone, I just want him to adapt.
  18. Couldn't they do it through the medium of dance as well ?
  19. I think we've just been given notice that Sadlier, Dapo, John (or is he injured ?) and possibly Morley will be leaving in January.

    Bury

Could it be more Pythonesque ? Bury FC Supporters’ Society (BFCSS) and Bury AFC’s Shakers Community Society (BAFCSCS). "Splitters !!!" One with 771 members, 63% saying "yes" and one with 1,003 where 97% said yes ... so it fails by a margin of 3.7% of the 771. That's 28 people of one of the groups, or 1.58% of the whole total. You could have a sitcom based on this.
  21. Of course one may say "Asian bloke" as it's descriptive. Pa*i would inevitably be viewed as an insult due to the way it's historically used. Afghani, or Indian bloke would be fine in a normal context, as would 'Pakistani' for that matter.
  22. Is a bloke in a frock and a wig inviting people to fight him not inviting offence ? Plus, it's very likely that whilst you're offended on his behalf he won't be as it's extremely unlikely he's reading this forum.
  23. Wording introduced following a match at the Reebok v Blackburn when Craig Short equalised for them in about the 5th minute of 4 minutes 'time added on'. It really did have an air of 'I'll keep playing till we score' about it. There was uproar at the time as there'd been no real lost time to speak of in he added time. 7 December 2002. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2002/dec/08/match.sport7
