Yeah... first year back in div 2 (old money) for us I think
  3. We know what Greening is and what he can do, and in my opinion, it's not enough We don't know with the others, they could be good Could be shit too, but I'd rather take the gamble on the Korean than go for the mediocre Greening
  4. Same here, I've never understood when you have to see out 30 overs how the hell you get caught in the gulley like Collingwood... I just don't get it Likewise Anderson hitting the 2 fours late on, as much as I cheered - why did he do it? They were safe-ish hits but still... why even throw your bat at it ?

He ain't got years Or months even Shame if he has kids and that Remember him getting sent off at Burnden for Luton, elbowed Stubbs I think
  6. Tax free... I got the same deal, had done seven years Also got seven weeks notice but didn't have to work them, so effectively got nine months salary, seven tax free Was in a better paid job within a fortnight Not the norm and I was a lucky so and so but you have to put some feelers out and see what the job market is like, don't just assume...
  7. Campo did a job that season and Stelios scored some important goals too, but overall yes, the team was aging and needed some new blood. Nobody can say what Allardyce might've done with the squad that pre-season, it's utterly unprovable. All we do know is that we got in Europe twice in his last 3 years.
  8. You asked if Allardyce left us in rude health. Anyway, back to the thread, can Megson change our style... of course he can. Will he? I think so, he seems a man of his word. However I suspect in reality he's talking about attacking certain home games a bit more, I doubt we'll be going 4-2-4 at Old Trafford and the like. We have been pretty tentative in a lot of winnable home games the last 18 months and while he's been proved right to do that (we stayed up), I think he feels a bit more secure and more able to go for the 3 points more agressively now. Evolution, not revolution. The last time everyone was bleating on about our style of play we ended up bottom after ten games with just a point or two on the board.
  9. He left us in Europe for the second time in 3 years. That's the bare fact of the matter.
  10. Murphy has always been a class above Greening to be fair
  11. He did on occasion last season didn't he?
  12. We need some kind of outlets in our team, who the hell is he going to pass the ball TO ? He has his good points but he's not what we need IMO
  13. I've not heard that yet, my first little un is only 3 months old I feed her before I get in bed, and sometimes she'll be awake for a bit afterwards in her cot making weird 'happy' noises, as they do at that age That's a nice sound to my ears Fatherhood has mellowed me a bit too much I think, I'm turning right soppy
  14. I don't think I can remember a single, solitary moment of that game
  15. I can understand that, it follows a formula for sure and he does the same things over and over, basically being an awkward tw?t For me that just makes it even funnier though
  16. Our attack is not up to much outside of Flintoff They've got tons of batting too
  17. Brilliant show, gets funnier the more you see of it, watched every one You MUST acquire 'It's always sunny in Philadelphia' - absolutely hilarious
  18. Bopara out, soft wicket
  19. Not really, I like the approach Megson is taking, he seems to pick his buys a bit more carefully and he's trying to build something to last, which feels more right at this moment in time Allardyce's approach was very much of its time too All I'm saying is that the fact people assume players are past it doesn't mean you can't squeeze some value out of them, if they are managed properly Not sure that these types fit our ethos now but I wouldn't put it past Allardyce to re-invigorate some cast offs at Blackburn Perhaps the time for these types of players will come though, maybe next year... we can never pay top money so the only way we'll get real class in is to take some gambles
  20. I suspect he realised that these types of signings are a gamble, but if one in 2 or 3 pay off you are in clover I'm surprised you need this explaining, it's quite simple really
  21. No, he was shit and past it IMO
  22. Thing is Mounts, that's what people thought about the lads he brought here That's why they came here...
  23. Yeah he has done, I'm sure I hope we sign a quality centre back though, and don't try to make Robinson our 1st choice
