However I suspect in reality he's talking about attacking certain home games a bit more, I doubt we'll be going 4-2-4 at Old Trafford and the like. We have been pretty tentative in a lot of winnable home games the last 18 months and while he's been proved right to do that (we stayed up), I think he feels a bit more secure and more able to go for the 3 points more agressively now. Evolution, not revolution. The last time everyone was bleating on about our style of play we ended up bottom after ten games with just a point or two on the board.

Not really, I like the approach Megson is taking, he seems to pick his buys a bit more carefully and he's trying to build something to last, which feels more right at this moment in time Allardyce's approach was very much of its time too All I'm saying is that the fact people assume players are past it doesn't mean you can't squeeze some value out of them, if they are managed properly Not sure that these types fit our ethos now but I wouldn't put it past Allardyce to re-invigorate some cast offs at Blackburn Perhaps the time for these types of players will come though, maybe next year... we can never pay top money so the only way we'll get real class in is to take some gambles
