  1. Have I logged on to Unitedways.com by mistake? Jesus
  2. Steady enough player, on the cheap as well... he'll do for me
  3. Good news, proven top flight player, on a free, in an area that we needed to freshen up
  4. All depends on the money side of things If he'll take 'backup' wages then yes
  5. Ashtons record is deceptive How many full games has he actually played for West Ham? He is living on a reputation made in about 15 games for West Ham about three years ago He's always injured, and in truth he's unproven
  6. He's got 1 year left on his contract, wants to leave, and we've got left backs anyway So I think you're right - we're in the driving seat on this one
  7. When someone comes up with an alternative that would be as effective and is available for the ?5m, it'll make sense Until then it won't, not by a long chalk
  8. In some ways you could say it was a masterclass from Klitschko Boring as f?ck though, but the Krauts love it That's why the division needs Haye
  9. Not enough to leave him on for the second half of the final though I see nothing in him that sets him apart, he is just a boy compared to the Lampard/Mikel/Essien/Ballack/Gerrard/Alonso/Mascherano types of their rivals United have Carrick, Anderson and Fletcher in comparison - as I say, Giggs, Scholes and Hargreaves probably can't be relied on for a full season They need a few signings IMO, hopefully they will choose badly
  10. Nope, they'll be weaker Giggs and Scholes will contribute less and Ferdinand seems to have acquired a hard to solve injury They've just lost a world class striker and also their best player - one of the best in the world who they can't replace directly, no matter who they sign A couple of their signings of recent years have failed (Anderson and Nani) and perhaps Berbatov too
  11. I'm due for renewal and have been thinking about this too What about these 'free laptop' sites/deals - anyone tried them?
  12. Very happy with Davis... Now we need to look for a centre half and an attacking player of some kind, ideally a right sided player Good signing by Megson, fair play
  13. I'm not one for bothering about the kit too much but my jaw nearly hit the floor when I saw ours this year F?cking horrendous I can only agree: who the f?ck thought that was good - and how bad must the other suggestions have been
  14. Then why the underhand tactics? I think some of the things described here cross the line from 'Marketing' into dishonesty
  15. Along with the 'Davies debate' this argument has cropped up before too. Neither do I, Messi is a winger in my book, so this time I agree with you. Still disagree on Davies for England though, if we are going to play a 'target man' type of striker Davies would do a more intelligent job than Heskey (marginally) or Crouch (clearly). But that ship has long since sailed. It's just my opinion.
  16. Only got the newborn version But the chair will work without the 'base' using the belt straps - but then it's not 'isofixed' it's just a normal car seat using belt straps I think you have to have the base, guess the idea is you don't have to buy different bases all the time, and like folk have said, can lift out the seat easily
  17. Doubt they would But whoever is eyeing up the job wouldn't want to get it now, and face a thumping in the election They'd rather wait until they've lost and start afresh That's my guess
  18. No it's not. You have a strange relationship with 'facts'. Heskey played for Liverpool because Houllier (who signed Milan Baros, Florent Sinama Pongolle, Eric Meijer and many other strikers) thought him good enough. That is a judgement call, not a 'fact'. I think Davies is and has been a better player and there's no way you can prove otherwise, acting a smart alec certainly won't win you the argument. Old fashioned fortune plays a big part in how careers pan out and Davies had some woeful luck after Chesterfield. Heskey on the other hand has has taken his limited game a long way.
  19. Ah, the old 'fact' game eh There is no 'fact' that can prove Heskey is better than Davies Seems one or two of us think Heskey got the nod for England down the years in large part because he played for Liverpool No amount of patronising on your part can prove or disprove that
  20. My point is quite simple Carlos, Kevin Davies is a better player in my opinion. Where Britain's got Talent and why you and I have never played for England come into it I don't know. As far as I can tell they were crap points, badly made. Given a career move or two different it could easily have been roles reversed between Heskey and Davies, that's all.
  21. I'm nowhere near good enough to play for either Suspect you aren't too Davies however commanded a ?7m fee or so a few years back and has spent his career mainly in the top flight Could easily have been him instead of Heskey playing for both sides
  22. Makes you wonder, if Davies had signed for Liverpool not BBurn, and been played in the right position throughout his career, would he have all those caps instead pf Emile? Probably. Technically he's streets ahead of Heskey IMO
  23. Not for me mounts Doesn't have any pace to lose, so there's no reason he should be any less a player any time soon
  24. Chagaev tested positive for Hepatitis didn't he... so no chance It'll be some yank journeyman Suspicious this - Haye's money was the Uk tv rights from Setanta, all other monies were Wlad's Setanta are perilously close to going under Seems co-incidental
