  1. get you Where were you educated, the school of hard knocks? 'Periferal' indeed
  2. Ferguson went to his house in Swinton and 'persuaded' him. Friends of mine were friends of his...
  3. I've had requests from girls that I don't know, totally baffled me and I thought 'must be some scam' Young girl at work tells me it's par for the course now, if someone sees you are from there area or any kind of tenuous connection, likes the look of you, they'll message and ask for a date or whatever Times have changed !
  4. I think you've actually just made me think it's MORE likely he'll play for England Ferdinand's injury record is becoming suspicious, like something that will hover around him for the long term. Upson has a poor injury record too and he's no spring chicken. Jagielka has had one good-ish season in that position in the top flight and now has a bad injury Lescott is decent enough but we know his limitations by now, he's not genuine international calibre IMO So I think Cahill has a good shot at becoming a regular squad member if he progresses and stays away from injury His rivals are probably more like Richards and Onuoha than the lads you mentioned With a young centre back it's hard to know exactly how he'll turn out ... but considering his age, the shite he's had to partner, and the fact we've been struggling since he joined, he's done really well
  5. Yeah, not a lot happening at all
  6. Well, they don't define his quality, it's not that simple Look at Rasiak's record... compare Beardsley's (at a guess)... one is useless, the other for a few years was one of the very best around In these days of sometimes 3 or 4 games a season against part time opposition, international records can be deceptive Anyway, time will tell on this lad, let's hope for the best eh
  7. We've spent the least this summer in the premier league So if we don't come good today there'll be some truth in it
  8. Thing is Tyls, he's had lots of cash in his time here and the squad he's built is short of firepower He inherited two of the brighter sparks in Davies and Gardner With the money he's had he's bought 2 right backs, a left back, 3 or 4 centre halves, a few midfielders... We'll see what happens but he's had plenty of time, money and opportunity to sign more attacking players in his time here
  9. The consensus was that we needed a centre back and attacking player (s) If he fails to bring in the attacking player we need he cannot use money as an excuse, given the fact he's chosen to invest in two far from essential positions before he'd secured a forward player It's all well and good people saying he doesn't like Hunt, wants to play Gardner in midfield etc. The fact remains we had adequate full backs (one of which he bought for a tidy sum) who were virtually ever present last year; and in case of injury/suspension we could easily juggle things around to cover them What we don't have is any kind of option up front He needs to come through with something by the deadline but I'm not holding my breath
  10. Fair point. When people say 'who are we going to get in' they seem to forget Megson was helping out coaching somewhere for nothing. So we were hardly dining at the top table last time were we.

Listening to it now Brilliant, he's a nasty c?nt, love it
  12. I work with young uns with first class degrees - I went to Hulton High but I can write better than them and am more numerate I'm also aware that my Fathers 'tech' work before he became a sheet metal worker was harder than anything I ever studied - and I have a degree Simple fact is we're afraid to tell folk they aren't really that good, and standards have slipped as a result There were a bunch of seven year olds on the telly this morning who had all passed GCSE Maths, so that tells its own story
  13. It's just disappointing that a player who obviously has talent, and is the type of player we're crying out for, is going to end up at a relegation rival
  14. Not sure if you are about to supply a punchline? But in 1901 perhaps the people of east and south London had a reason for a grudge, and they mingled with each other in day to day life... i.e. it was a genuine rivalry I can't imagine half of Essex have a grudge with half of Surrey in 2009
  15. Bet there aren't too many from Bermondsey/Mile End and the like when the court cases come through With Millwall it often seems to be village idiots from Surrey I don't really buy the 'it's a century old grudge' thing, I doubt last nights hassle was about preserving the dignity of their forefathers It's just boys being boys, and two clubs who feel they've a reputation to uphold
  16. Yep, he had been doing rehearsals all day before he came down here (London)... he lives in Didsbury He was absolutely the scouse Bez, looks like him, even has mannerisms and talks slowly like him - that's what worried us
  17. John Bishop did a turn for one of our events a few weeks back He's a PROPER space cadet, we were sh?tting it before he got up thinking he'd bomb He was pretty good though, in fact I thought he was very good How was he?
  18. They'll have a good go at this total I think Wicket has deadened and we'll panic a bit
  19. Well, they certainly don't go to the Delle Alpi I believe it's out of town and shit to get to
  20. Fucking useless c?nts our batsmen, never play to the situation. Got bags and bag of time, stay there, accumulate slowly. Should never let it get to 39-3 in this scenario Trott just flashed at one too, what the f?ck are they thinking?
  21. He's played a few on the right too
  22. That's just pedantic. The point is they are not very mobile and didn't score many goals, or even threaten to. The point still stands, picking three midfielders of that ilk at home is sh?te, cowardly almost.
  23. I agree, we have Davies and a big money signing (Elmander), and a perma crock (Vaz Te) What's the harm in taking a gamble or two on some lower division players? Pederson did a job and he wasn't exactly Pele Baffling, we seem to be obsessed with central midfield plodders and centre backs
  24. That's enough to set me off
  25. Agreed, he's done everything asked of him You can imagine the top brass think the same way - he's controlled costs, shed players, kept us up from a perilous position, then again the year after If he just stopped picking 3 slow midfielders at home and stopped spitting his dummy when he speaks to the press he might get cut a bit more slack
