  1. That's possible but as we know it will be very difficult to attract anyone but dowie or reid who has decent experience. It's a tough call but who ever possibly comes we have to support them and hope we have found the rite man for the job. I still want to give coyle time but have a feeling he may be off soon
  2. Crawley away would be fun!
  3. Clark has only had a month by month rolling contract since the end of last season so we would not need to pay them any compensation
  4. if we did get rid of owen i could see us going for someone with experience such as curbs but i would like to see someone who has something about them who can get them organised. It may be a risk but given lee clark's record with huddersfield i think he is ready for a step up to a bigger job and is currently only on a month to month rolling contract so would not need us to pay a fee for him
  5. 3-2 spurs, will probably lose but i dont think a thrashing is on the cards. hopefully i wont be proved wrong!
  6. i voted to keep him simply because i can t see us being able to get anyone better in. if steve bruce becomes available i can see us taking him if coyle does get the boot. in an ideal i would take big sam back but aint going to happen.
  7. two matches ago wining 5 - 0 was just a miracle never to be repeated then! i agree we are in trouble but it does not mean we are uncapable of turning it around.
  8. 1. Where do you expect Bolton and Everton to finish in the Premier League this season? everton to finish between 10th - 14th bolton to finish between 14th - 18th 2. Which Bolton players should we worry about the most, and are there any Everton players you would be worried about? baines - he's due a free kick goal and cahill will give us nightmares when ever the ball get pumped into our box 3. With the current Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright facing some fans turning against him, what is your opinion of the way your club is ran under Phil Gartside? doing a good job always going to be hard to keep fans expectations realistic 4. With the speculation surrounding Gary Cahill's future at Bolton, do you expect him to leave in the next window? Who would you like to bring in to replace him? cahill is as good as gone to chelsea its just a question as to how much we can get for him, for a replacement its got to be someone with experience and a leader but will probably be any old tom dick or harry. is distin available on the cheap? 5. The January Window is just around the corner, where would you like to see Owen Coyle strengthen the side? defence is the key to us staying up we have shown we can score goals but we have to start doing the basics to stay in the league 6. If you could take up to three Everton players, who would you take? baines, jagielka and rodwell 7. Finally, what result do you predict? home advantage could be the key 2 - 1 to bolton
  9. the run in is very kind to us if we can replace cahill with a steady defender and replace Robinson I'm fairly convinced we will drag ourselves safe before the last day
  10. 3 - 1 and everyone to get to exited and taking about us getting into the top half
  11. do we sack him? if we do who do we get in?
  12. the season is 38 games long and it is how many points you have at the end of the season that counts. some of us think we are going down some of us think we are staying up but its probably to early to know for sure either way while the gap is so small between us and the rest. for the people who think we are doomed and have no way back what are you proposing to do? what is your long term plan if you were a board member? my opinion is we stick with what we have we are making steps to reduce the debt plus keep us at a high level in the football ladder. if we had gone down under big sam we would have had to scrap 10 - 15 players because of the wages they where on witch could have meant us being stuck or fallen down the leagues. now if we go down we would only need to lose a handful if that and would stand a good chance of bouncing back without crippling damage.
  13. we were 6 - 8 or so points ahead of the bottom three at this stage last season and everyone was creaming themselves over how good we were. its two wins to catch up if we have a good run at some point, witch we will we will move up the table to a position that is more realistic to our standard (11th - 15th). no team apart from the big six are able to sit confidently in mid table all season without a sniff of relegation just over there shoulder. long term job for coyle was always reduce the wage budget and age of the squad and turn us into a club that can develop plays and sell on to give us funds to invest in better talent. we over achieved last season up until the fa cup semi but we may well have some great days along the way eg: thrashing stoke
  14. we are two points behind wolves who are in freefall and cant score for toffee three behind stoke who are falling apart more each week we play Everton next week and we will win. I'm only going to start to worry when the cap between us and the rest get to 4 - 6 points. as long as we are not losing ground I believe we will keep our heads in the run in more than the teams around us
  15. still no need to panic we will be fine its going to be a bottom half finish but we wont go down if we all stick together and get behind the team and ride this season thru. we have been in this position before as a club and there will be sadly many years that we will be in similar but we have the experience and know how to drag our selves thru
  16. sam rickets was back in training yesterday in good injury news. it will be like a new signing!
  17. it was 2 2 there is a youtube clip of the goals on the youtube topic if you want to remind yourself
  18. coldest game i remember was barnsley away in the 3rd round of the fa cup think it was 97. open end pelting it down with hail shivered my way thru the secound half and had nothing to cheer about. i know we lost and gavin ward did a bicycle kick to clear a corner instead of catching the ball but dont recall much else. oh and i think we will scrape a win this weekend 1 - 0 klasnic
  19. just had a look and we had only won three at the same stage last season big difference was we had managed to get draws in six others. bit off topic but shows if we could battle for a few draws instead of losing here and there we would rocket up the table
  20. eagles is on the left and mavis on the right today but agree with every point there. having muamba and reo in the middle is winning us the game they have allowed the wingers to play as wingers for once
  21. they have applied to fill in the corners and they can stick another tier in on the stand opposite the main stand that could bring the attendance up to about 37 thousand. only issue is the residence and transport to and from is piss poor at present, all park and ride also so takes an our to get to the car park and another half to get out of the car park.
  22. someone needs to tell owen to give up on 4-4-2 sack the wingers off and pack the midfield and start getting some possetion on the ball. boyata cahill weater robinson pratley muamba reo-c tuncay davies(m) ngog
  23. hanging on in this secound half only going there way at the moment
  24. most people on here said we would be on 4 points at this stage of the season, we on three so only a point behind most peoples target. after chesea we have three games against wigan, sunderland and swansea if we only pick up 1 or two points in thease games then we will be worried. for now take a chill pill settle down and get behind who ever plays holden is a big influence on the team we are more than capable of picking points up against the bottom half placed teams.
  25. they should be working together and petrov does not give any suport to his full back no mater who is there. if we play 4 5 1 with two defensive midfielders who can provide cover wide when defending then petrov has a place in the team but when we play 4 4 2 he is liability and will cost us more goals than he makes.
