Sounds nice but not sure I will ever attain it unfortunately. How does that work with the 90 day rule thingy?

I've now got an Irish passport as well as a UK passport, so not a problem for me.....Mrs Sweep though may have an issue 🙂

I’m getting an Italian one and have the same issue. I’ll miss her for 9 months

I see it a bit differently, I've been down here for 28 years now, and can't see that I'd ever want to move back North again. Once I've paid this mortgage off in a few years, then I could I suppose, move further up north and pocket a few quid, the aim ultimately though will be downsize slightly here, and have a couple of extra properties abroad (Spain and France) where I flit between them during the winter/colder months here in the UK (that I can rent/AirBnB when I'm not using them)

Horses for courses. My main reasons are; My family and my mrs's family are all up north (Bolton, Sale, Stockport, Hull and Durham) I love London and if I was a millionaire I'd stay here but wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the South East (the home counties I really don't like very much, I've been proper miserable living in East Kent, Hertfordshire and West Sussex) No desire to live in another country for months on end - rather go on some nice holidays.

So it's either London or Gtr. Manchester - and as it's closer to family, my home area and more affordable - it'll be Gtr. Manchester please. Yeah, I'll be ready to come home by then.
