Tonge moor green jacket Posted December 13, 2025 Author Posted December 13, 2025 Dunno if anyone has seen much about the Sandie Peggie case, but there is a possibility that AI was involved in generating notes that the tribunal used in their reasoning. Many were inaccurate, with quotes (from the Supreme Court's previous rulings on similar cases) being incomplete and/or fabricated. The tribunal made its findings on the back of this. The court find in her favour but not on all counts. The findings against her may well have been the other way had the full, accurate information been available. Quote
Marc505 Posted December 17, 2025 Posted December 17, 2025 Horrendous news about the passing of this young footballer. Look in the comments though provided by football clubs including ours, are these all AI generated? Look at how often the word "time" is used. Is this a case of whoever runs the social media for each club asking AI to come up with something that sounds sympathetic but professional? Just write it yourself as a human being ffs Quote

What a bizarre future we're building. In this case though, I doubt the comments are AI. They're just the standard stuff people/organisations say when someone dies. Aye, doubt it's AI, but they have a generic standard template that is very repetitive I'm more surprised that all these league clubs have replied regards a player from the national League North Quote

Sweep Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Apparently, this year, Google will invest $180B (yes, $180,000,000,000) on their AI infrastructure expansion. It's mind boggling. Quote

Sweep Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Just now, Tonge moor green jacket said: Is that a genuine figure, or an AI assessed one? Who knows...... Although we've already taken orders from Nvidia so far this year totaling just over $300M, and we're a mere tiddler in this industry, and pricing of "memory" has increased by a factor of 4 since November, so the numbers are just absolutely massive Quote

Spider Posted February 12 Posted February 12 AI will only let the most useless humans survive. Ones that won’t be a threat due to intelligence levels similar to a garden trowel. Which means Bolty survives. Ironic eh Quote

Measures would include licensing GPU chips, mandating watermarking, policing server farms, and using advanced firewalls to block external AI services, according to Quora users and UK Parliament petitions. Specific actions to implement a ban would include: International Treaties: Securing agreements among all major nations to prevent the use of AI, as a partial ban would allow access via VPNs. Infrastructure Control: Licensing and inspecting data centers, with specialized police forces to identify and shut down non-certified server farms. Hardware and Software Restrictions: Implementing mandatory watermarking on all AI-generated content and controlling the distribution of GPU chips. Digital Surveillance: Utilizing sophisticated firewalls and monitoring internet usage to detect and block AI traffic, as shown in Cloudflare's documentation. Targeted Prohibitions: Restricting specific applications, such as real-time biometric identification in public spaces, as outlined in the EU AI Act. However, experts note that completely banning AI is difficult because it is, at its core, open information that can be easily stored, copied, and shared, making enforcement challenging. Instead of a total ban, many argue for establishing guardrails. Climate change is set to start bringing the world as we know it to its knees in the next couple of decades. Even more so now we know COP and any other meaningful solutions have failed. Will we even have access to the resources capable of taking AI to advanced levels? Quote
