A VAR question

Wembley Stadium is set up for VAR. will our final have VAR?

Featured Replies

Fucking hope not.

Doubt it, they’ll not use such technology on scrags from the lower  leagues

I reckon VAR would favour us, been on the end of more than our fair share of bad decisions.

In general though, I've never been a fan of it, still not.

Hope not, we’ve all got trains buses and planes to catch.

Good question Micky

Personally hope not

The answer is at the moment - quite possibly

Competition rules permit the EFL to use it if they so choose

Last season they introduced VAR for the first time at the Play Off Finals

Understandable given how much is at stake financially

So they are slowly embracing it

Presumably be an announcement in next couple of weeks one way or the other

In t'League Cup it's used for final & semi-final. Paraphrasing  it says 'if a club hasn't got it then it'll be installed for them".

Obviously not the case for the semi's in the Pepperoni Cup but I don't see Wembley switching it off.

They'll probably use it and think we'll be grateful for it ... in the same way we're grateful to play again PL kids' teams.

Hope to fuck we don’t lose to a passage of play which would’ve gone in our favour.

Obviously, should we win in the opposite circumstance then all good.

I’m a big fan of goal line tech, as that’s a simple yes/no scenario.

VAR, like Wigan, can fuck off and stayed fucked off. It’s gunge.

Exactly 👍

I witnessed my first VAR in Italy last week, I didn't know what was going on, wasn't till it flicked up on the big screen I had any idea.  Anyhow, after spending what seemed like a hour or two of the ref checking on a monitor, Harry Kane got his penalty.  I'm all for it now, cheered me up anyhow 🙂

Playoff finals will have VAR

League 1 refs won't know how to turn the fucking screen on.

Fuck the VAR; Fuck …….,,

Our first ever experience (hopefully) of celebrating a goal with the doubt in the back of your mind as to whether it will count or not. I can’t say I’m looking forward to it

I'm not a fan, never have been & the way it's been used here hasn't changed that view.

However, that apart, it seems extremely strange that a 46 match season without it, semi-finals without it & then see it added to the final match.

Because the only reason it was ever brought in was for the benefit of the broadcasters and the final is the only one of those 49 games they really care about.

Maybe if we'd had it for the pizza cup Ipswich may have won the league because two of Plymouth's players would've been enjoying three match bans.
