1. there shouldn't be if we're preparing properly - remember "murder ball"?

2. half the squad don't even play in the matches and every week 5 of those that start don't play the full 90

3. Burton have played the same number of matches as we have in April.

1. There's no possibility of recreating the intensity and physicality of a competitive match in training - even with murderball - and understandably so

2. As we're finding out, a number of our squad are below par

3. Have they lost a similar number of first team players to injury as we have?

2. As we're finding out, a number of our squad are below par Seems that way. Quality has been "variable" since Wembley - so is that fitness or is it masking a drop in form? Could be either/both but it needs rectifying, especially passing and movement to retain possession and keep the pressure off our defence.

3. Have they lost a similar number of first team players to injury as we have? They have 3 out for the season, but their short term injuries are close to being back and two may be on bench tonight so they'll have more to pick from

I reiterate, the key for us tonight is simply how well we play our game. They can't do anything to us without the ball and if we're good enough we'll hurt them.

As said before, yes that's right, but if players are running on fumes then they can't reach those levels.

I agree that both sides may have tired players, but the numbers of players we have out means there are no options. And many of them are first names on the team sheet which, again, may reduce our performance levels.

Nah, murder ball might be more aerobically demanding but nowhere near matches the intensity and physicality of a competitive match

I agree wd should focus on doing what we do as well as we can

Let's see what the team sheet says. TBH I'm struggling to imagine which players are "running on fumes". Our injury problem is about losing 4 players in one position, but elsewhere we have plenty of options and those who haven't started regularly have had game time but should be fresh. If they haven't been the first names on the teamsheet they need to step up anyway if they get the chance.

Situation isn't ideal but it's Evatt's job to find a way to win with what's available - and I have a feeling he just might.

I don't think fitness Is a problem it's just we've a lot of injuries. I think the players who are fit are ready to go.

Our main weakness is defending balls into the box and that's where we are going to be tested today. We are going to have to try and not give throw ins away deep in our half of possible.

I'd take a point but I think we can win this. Big Vic against his old team off the bench.

Remaining defenders either played a lot (Jones, Bradley) or just come back (Johnston).

Midfield has no Lee, Sheehan been improved recently, but not been special since his injury.

Williams just back, but playing in defence.

Thomason just back.

The boxer had to miss Cambridge as the stats said he was near to injury.

It's a tough ask, and we're chopping and changing out of necessity at the moment.

I hope he picks a pragmatic side tonight, but I envisage 2 up top, and a battle like the last 2 aways.

We really could do with starting Sheehan, Morley, and Dempsey in midfield

The really bring the energy and tempo to our team and get us pushing forward in a way we've not really been able to do without them

Mate sent us this

The last time MJ played in defence

That keeper is now also Brighton's number 1 and was in Spain's WC squad

Depends upon how effective they are at stifling our game.

Cambridge nullified Sheehan in his new role.

If they do bombard us, and press for second balls, Sheehan isn't going to win the physical battles. Therefore, he must use the ball quicker and get us moving so as to keep them penned in their own half.

Concerned that 2 up top and Sheehan in midfield 3 will see us under the cosh.

But, we will see.
