MJ - Gone to The Dons

Aww I’m sorry to see him go, he’s my favourite player and I’m gonna miss his one touch wizardry.

He played a big part in getting us out of the shit and I’ll always remember and be grateful for that.

Best wishes n good luck fella!

He was a key signing in our promotion season, but the top half of L1 is above his level.

He'll do a good job at MK and I wish him well.

Aye shows MarkhamBall in action.

Knowing when to release is as big knowing who to bring in.

Served us well MJ, he will be applauded if he returns.

Served us well and good luck

but we need to move on

You know things are bob on at the club when players write stuff like that when leaving 💙

Class from MJ, wish him the best, did we get any ££££ for him?

A lovely letter like this. Traf coming to watch us at Curzon and saying he's a "fan for life".

The one thing that springs to mind is that after years of acrimonious rifts with players - the last being Sarcevic - something has changed at the club and Sharon and Ian have developed a culture which fully engages the players in the project and is open and honest with them up to and including when it's time to move on.

Means something when departing players react like this.

😥🤍

Class act on and off the pitch.  I'll miss his 30 yard pinpoint passes out to the wing in particular.

FWIW in the last 3 home matches I thought he was our best player, over the 3 games, hardly misplaced a pass, took the game to the opposition when possible and read the games like a veteran.

How is he only 27 though!

This 👏

For me MJ was ok but only a squad player I think we’re we will miss him will be in games we’re we are in front and under a bit of pressure in the closing stages . He always looked ok just sitting im front of the defence in games like that and gave us a bit of Ariel help when defending corners .

hopefully this hasn’t come totally out of the blue for evatt and we’re going to be scratching about for a replacement with a couple of weeks to the start of the season

We dont always agree but Im totally with you on this and its so much better than when we treated favourite playes badly like , Youri , JJ, SKD , Ivan , and lesserly Stelios and Speed & Nolan .

It also reflects so much better on the club when a player can leave happy-ish , even if they wanted to stay.

MJ has been the ultimate pro for us and he's been integral in our resurgence, wish him every success for the remainder of his career.

Really interesting that fans are now genuinely sad when players leave, and players are sad / grateful to be leaving. Reckon I went about 10 years not being that bothered about players moving on - sure sign that we're back on the right track
