It's only since reading about Amrican XL Bullys that I discovered three other breeds, in addition to the Pit Bull Terrier, are also banned in this country

They're a good all rounder but they aren't rescuing you from up a mountain. For that you'll need one of these

Is that a Burmese mountain dog? I seen a puppy last week, beautiful it was. The kids have been non stop mithering for one now 😫

It's a Saint Bernard! He's my parents dog, I can barely look after myself let alone a dog 😂

Only dog I've ever been bitten by is a Jack Russell, for whatever that information is worth 😁

On the wider argument of banning breeds..... A mate of a mate has a red nose pit bull. I'm no expert but I think they're on the banned list of breeds. It's a right soft bugger, to the point that whenever it has been with my beagle, it cowers from mine for being a right giddy twat wanting to play with it.

I grew up with family pugs and came across welsh terriers, dachshunds and a cavalier king spaniel  from extended family

My cockerpoo on lead was jumped by a pack of off lead 5 labs and needed vet treatment

 

So, all dogs can be dangerous but a 10 stone lump of muscle is potentially a a whole load of teeth and trouble

Im not happy killing family pets but anything id ed as a dangerous dog, bollocks off and muzzled up

Why do folk feel the need to get a dog that’s got a bad reputation, is it to make them look hard, just get a cute little dog that couldn’t hurt a fly. That’s my 2 penneth as I’m not a dog lover.

I got bit by a dog that belonged to my brothers bird at the time (staffy bull dog type thing) on the arse and back of my calf as a kid. 

Was the day of our promotion home coming on the town hall so went waving the team off in agony. Stood on top of a phone box by wimpy as an 10 or 11 year old. 

My mum went mental at my older brother when we got home!

And there lies the bigger issue, for me. Stop the little wankers on the estate breeding them for a quick buck, and selling them to other little wankers that want them for status. 

Not saying they shouldn't ban these XL's, as Casino correctly points out, if they go nuts they're just too big to handle. But the laws should be looking at the idiots with no experience breeding them and selling them on to any other idiot.

Tbh I’ve never seen so many blokes walking small/very small dogs as I have in the last couple of years.

Rarely do I see a status dog around these parts. 

Maybe a decade ago but not now. 

Anyway correct decision being made re neutering & muzzling in public etc….
