My recollection of the Sordell signing was we spent all summer trying to get Wilfried Zaha to sign and when he finally told us to sling it we only had a few days of the window left, so we panicked and went after another England U21 forward based on nothing but word of mouth.

Pretty much though it was January and it was late on the last day

Sordell was literally on his way to Cardiff or something and we thought he must be decent so we'll go for him

He has done miles more to our success this season but never gets his name heard with the fans. Anyway a couple of weeks of nervous games including Blackpool and Wigan away; after the Wigan game we need to be in second place as our games in hand on Derby will have gone.
