Exactly what I was coming on to say.

The whole presidential pardon thing seems really weird to me.

The US President has more kingly powers than our king ever will do!

Plus - this does exactly the thing that I've accused DT of doing for years now, ie undermining the institutions that make the US what it is.

The Democrats weaponising the judicial system the biggest ever. Boy is that going to come back to bite them.

Who wants to compare pardons between trump and Biden?

☺️

Just like Trump did in 2021 and will do again when he pardons his supporters who rioted at Capitol Hill

Yet another massive plus for a Constitutional Monarch to be head of state and a warning, if ever one were needed, about the perils of politically motivated appointees by governments of republics.

...and now the doddery one has given him the perfect comeback when the Undemocrats start whining (do they ever stop?).

Nobody should ever be jailed for an inch erection.

Pardoning in this way is fcuking bizarre.

Cant beleive it’s still allowed.

But this is a country that lets actors and fat golfers become President so it shouldn’t be a massive surprise

He pardoned him after he pleaded guilty FFS

That's the part that I find utterly crackers

Land of the free. Providing you have cash and lots of it.

It is fucking ridiculous, but I don't recall much outrage on here when Trump was handing them out like sweets?

The young lad on the Making of a Murderer doc on Netflix, forget his name but a shocking miscarriage of justice - I remember his supporters at the time hoping Trump would pardon him but apparently he had too many old golf buddies to get sorted.

This is just a "fuck you" to the MAGA lot isn't it

He wouldn't need pardoning if he wasn't guilty

100%

Clever, really. Because MAGA are now crying foul but forgetting that Trumpburger is about to enter the field of play and hand out pardons like confetti.

Its definitely going to cause to a few amusing meltdowns

Yes, I'm aware

But it's one thing to pardon his son claiming the judicial process had been infected by politics and  resulted in a "miscarraige of justice" if he'd solely been convicted after trial, but it's something else to claim a miscarriage of justice when his son had pleaded guilty to some of the charges

But none of these pardons are ever for a miscarriage of justice.

Its just the bloke at the top saying - aye it's ok, don't worry about it, we'll let you off.

It's nuts.

Said it before, America is just a third world country with loads of money.

I don’t think so it’s just a ‘what is there to lose’? I mean Joe has been president. He’s in his 80’s. His party just got crushed in the election. He won’t be part of any comeback and likely won’t live to see one.

Politically and morally a dreadful and appalling thing to do. But why would Joe Biden care at this point? He has little skin in that game anymore. So he saved his son.

Is this instead of or as well as the turkey?
