Wycombe Wanderers (A)

I’m hovering over the cancellation button on our hotel…. The only thing that is stopping me, is the chance we may have a new manager, which would inject some hope of a new beginning.

I mean Christ it would be some baptism of fire, with a bunch of midfielders unavailable and only 1 fit reserve central defender, against top of the league. But I think it would be a free hit for a new manager wouldn’t it?

Spoke to a few away ST holders, all of them have used this as one of their five returns.

Is anyone going??!

If Forrester is dropped next week after that he may as well pack his bag and leave right there and then. There’s not even the excuse anymore of Santos being ©️ he’s been patient, got his chance a

Quite enjoyed the game. Didn't think it was dire, shit or embarrassing as some have described it. Good point away from home against top of the league.

Forester must keep his place after that.

He should have kept his place last time but he didn’t as soon as Gethin was back and sadly the same thing will happen again I’m afraid as Rico and Johnno walk back in.

Forrester played at Stockport

Was dogshit

Just added for balance.

Was v good tonight

Its easy us no nowt amateurs saying we need to beef up midfield but that cant happen til the window

If we dont sign that midfielder, im evatt out

Isn’t the answer already in the squad?

Yeah I preferred seeing defenders just defending.

Good result considering positions and form.

To be fair we can't deny Santos would have been all over the defending in that game, he would have won every header and challenge like he does in those games.

Santos or Jones at CB?

One of the games not too far off his injury wasn’t it? Was definitely rusty granted.

whenever he played last season though I felt he deserved to keep his place.

Who?

Who knows?

Maybe but if its Dempsey, we need a back up

Hard earned point. Fair in the end.

Will Forrester MOTM by a country mile.

The midfield is the problem though. Big problem. Without Sheehan there's no creativity. Matete is just average. Lolos was shit. Thomasson has been below par twice in a row. There's no chemistry. Needs addressing in January.

Forrester and Matete both 8 out of 10 for me, both for their defensive work and physicality rather than creativity.

It might be true, but im just taking issue with an argument he was dropped on the back of being Baresi

Plus he’s not obsessed with thinking he’s Rio fucking Ferdinand and all the play needs to go through him.

100% this, Santos brings a lot physically,  but when he plays everything goes through him and it is too slow and one dimensional. Whilst we weren't at our best with the ball, we were quicker and more varied coming out from the back

They were all dogshit at Stockport. Nobody came out of that smelling of anything other than dogshit.

Have we by chance discovered a plan b. We don't have to play out from the back all the time. Support was brilliant. Wycombe definately won't stay at the top, their were very poor.

Some phenomenal heads of hair there.

Forrester my Man of the Match. Defense lumped it down field when under pressure. Great to see instead of ten minutes of sideways passing. Team moved the ball much faster and surprisingly we didn't miss Santos at all. Players all worked their socks off closing down and breaking up play. Who cares if it was a shit match. A draw feels like a win and starts building confidence ahead of two home matches. Good performance and great fans

Yes, Dempsey, but agree back up is a no brainer.

Good point. Santos any day. But a Santos told not to mess around on the ball would be the ideal.

A back 4 with him and Forrester or Toal as the CBs would be ideal

Johnston?

Don't forget Southwold on thr bench

Not big and strong enough for me as one of the 2 CBs in a back 4.

Would be a LB option

We showed in the away play off leg at Barnsley that we could lower the risk level from the back and still be a threat. We went a bit longer, didn't invite the press, didn't make mistakes in our own half but instead pushed onto their defenders, made them turn and they made the mistakes. We murdered Barnsley for 70-odd minutes.

No reason why we can't get plenty of points, clean sheets and wins doing similar this season, up to Evatt to decide he wants to do it regularly rather than on a one-off occasion. If Santos can't operate in that manner he shouldn't be a shoe-in.

Which leads him to try a 40 yarder in to the channel for a running striker. Problem is there’s no one running.

id personally fine the fucker every time he’s within 25 yard of Baxter on goal kicks.

Maybe he was one of the ones who'd been on intravenous fluids?

Half the bloody team that day had been poorly.
