Wycombe Wanderers (A)

I’m hovering over the cancellation button on our hotel…. The only thing that is stopping me, is the chance we may have a new manager, which would inject some hope of a new beginning.

I mean Christ it would be some baptism of fire, with a bunch of midfielders unavailable and only 1 fit reserve central defender, against top of the league. But I think it would be a free hit for a new manager wouldn’t it?

Spoke to a few away ST holders, all of them have used this as one of their five returns.

Is anyone going??!

If Forrester is dropped next week after that he may as well pack his bag and leave right there and then. There’s not even the excuse anymore of Santos being ©️ he’s been patient, got his chance a

Quite enjoyed the game. Didn't think it was dire, shit or embarrassing as some have described it. Good point away from home against top of the league.

Collins looking like he is up for it this first half

Only following on the BN fees, but it seems he has caused them some problems.

Just need him to bag one. Or two!

Played well so far, but should have played Williams in rather than shoot

Randall has turned in to Maldini

Williams defending well

Shown a bit more energy, had one decent effort, should have rolled Williams in for a clear chance

We're being helped here by a ref who wants it to be a non-contact game

Reckon these men need a bigger scoreboard.

As has Vic

Does Vic ever win a challenge?

Forrester having a decent game.

Problem with no midfield is that there is very little creativity for the front three. Trying to play long balls into them that rarely come off.

I'd kill for a player like Kone in our side

We had the money to find one and chose not too. I do agree though, he’d be perfect with Charles!

Not a bad first half, we’re still crying out for some physicality though. Shame it wasn’t addressed in the summer.

Defended ok, had a decent start, could have scored but they came right back into it. Midfield absent, Lolos missing, and george not much better. Would bring McAtee on for Lolos at HT, and then dion a bit later.

Williams playing well

Well it's gone far better than I thought it would

Defended well

And plenty options on the bench to change things up top second half

Where the fuck is Thomasson???? He's not touched the ball all half. We need him to wake up and start getting on the ball. He's captain FFS, going missing is not leading by example.

Gethin Jones has fallen off a cliff too. Seems he's incapable of passing to a white shirt.

Overall it's been ok, but they need to be better with the ball. Too much hoofball to victor.

Ya 5 baht is looking slim though!

They had a couple of decent chances but we are playing better than I thought we would. Hope it continues in the 2nd half.

A proper striker who can hold the ball up. He has looked half decent.

With Kone, you have to land after him going up for a header and then land on his toes, accidentally of course, that will slow him down as without Santos you can't compete physically with him. (Thanks Dad works every time).

Think tonight we are playing like teams that visit our place. Scrapping for everything, hitting it downfield out of danger instead of slow side passes and we've been pretty good with more pace. Matete and Shon struggling at times with a big physical team and we need a bit of luck with a deflection or penalty. Think Collins has a goal in him tonight too

Can’t fault the intensity & effort (would have beaten Wigan with half of it) but our attacking play is all over the place.

Thomason and Lolos "invisible"?

Maybe there is a slightly different approach being asked of them.

Keep it tight, then maybe see what we can do later.

Whether it will work, who knows, but so far, it seems we've done OK.

Nope you are wrong.

Good first 15 , then they came back into it . Lolos is just off the pace an looks lost in midfield but one of the few with any height on the pitch . Vic has done alright but Id still replace him at half time. For our last chance saloon defence they have done very well . Happy with that first half.

In all honesty, job done getting to HT intact and with not that many scares. Forrester solid at back, Williams a couple of vital blocks.

These sorts of games though show up how we've nobody capable of retaining the ball up front.

Wycombe not quite at it, bit wasteful and loose with final balls / crosses. You'd think they'd sort that out second half.
