As mentioned elsewhere by someone - the South Americans will be well up for this. Their view of the glory of the title 'World Club Champions' is very different to anywhere else in the world.

I have long followed South American (particularly Argie) football ever since Estudiantes De La Plata did a right job on the DMB's. For example, they whipped up an absolute frenzy about 'hatchet man' Nobby Stiles and he was sent off in no time. The word cynical comes to mind but that word is probably a bit too mild!

Aye and add to that the prize money is about 5 times what they could get for winning Copa Libertadores with a chance to get one over on Europe and I can see why they'd be well up for it

The prize money for this is more than the Champions league and double what the last World Cup paid.

Sorry, yeah, it was the '24 CL that I saw the figures (£90m) for, but the point remains that it's well worth winning, especially for teams like City & Chelsea who were nowhere near winning the CL.

Aye though you can see why the South American teams will be far more up for winning and putting a shift in than the European big boys

If the final is between a top side from SA and a top side from Europe I might just be inclined to watch it
