I may have missed players but we seem a left back and 2 wingers away from playing 442

And incredibly light up front a lot players who are good enough to be squad players like Toal,Schon, Sheehan Tutu , Lolos, CMG , McAtee etc but pace and match winners still missing IMO.

Add in Johnston and Forester think centre half ain’t an issue compared other areas.

GT is best option I think as left sided midfielder. I have no idea how good new signings are but assume they are all going to be starters except the young kid from Felixstowe.

That’s 32 players of which 5 are under squad registration age requirements.

if new RB, LB, RW and ST are all kids, we’d still have too many.

Yeah, just a picture of where we are depth wise currently, wasn't necessarily my ideal squad. 

My assumption would be at least McAtee and CMG will be shipped out yet and Vic won't be registered.

on the evidence of last season, Ambimbola is miles away from being a first team squad player

and Sharples-Ahmend too to be honest

We’re also missing youngsters from the above thoughts. The most glaring is Inwood, who has always been highly rated by the club, which now seems to be mirrored by Schumacher when he saw and played him.

I don’t think Curtis Warren has been brought in to be a B team player. I think he’s a serious contender for one of the wing roles.

And I think some of Jules’ youngsters will be banging on the door, as B team players.

A lot more to leave, in my opinion, with some only going when they realise they’ve not made the squad.

Feel like it's gonna be 4231 going down the Wycombe / Wrexham route of being more solid. 

Too early to do the best 11 yet. Give it 6 weeks.

A few things I’d change here.

Inwood is a left sided defender, and a starting candidate for me.

Warren is a winger. Right side, but left footed, which is why he both creates goals and scores them when he cuts inside. Left footed Schon, in contrast, doesn’t look comfortable on the right.

That said, I’d take Schon on the left, over Tutu. Tutu, like Collins, looks a class above in small doses, but is largely anonymous. Schon, without the defensive role of a wing back, may just thrive as an out and out left winger. Certainly, that’s where he always seemed to be on the highlights reel I watched, when we signed him.

Too early for this. 

Some unknown new faces (for me) in a declining squad that if I was the opposition I'd be weary of certain players but not exactly fearful or dreading playing it, I know in League 1 you ain't getting world beaters, but hopefully some exciting signings and pace come in

It is there is load of movement yet if that was the finished squad we would be no we’re near were we want to be totally unbalanced no real wingers no striker  one target man no full back .
We’re lower than last  season with that playing nearly the same players in a different formation

Strange that people think it is pointless to discuss the gaps in the squad as it stands. 
 

No one is selecting the starting XI for the first game.

Dempsey does not deserve to be on that list. 
 

CMG and McAtee need a few more games and can still decide which has been the biggest disappointment, McAtee ahead at the moment but CMG could push him. 🤣😂👍😎

Yet CMG started and was impressive in our best performance / result of last season. If he’s fit he’s a threat, for my money,  but hasn’t yet got going sadly due to injury.

Nowt wrong with this thread @Ani. If we can’t have a bit of fun based on where we are at the minute and thinking ahead to where these new players fit in, then it’s a poor do.

Doesn’t have to mean you are nailing your colours to the mast as this being the starting 11 on the 2nd August.

I can see Taylor, Simons and Dalby being starters.

Simons hopefully to bring the best out of Sheehan and Morley.

Listening to SS it seems he wants wingers and a focal point in the box. I’ve thrown that Salford lad in (hope it comes off) with Tutu on the other side.

I think one up front with 3 midfielders behind gives us some solidity.

I wouldn’t be disappointed to see Cogley and Conway start but I think there’ll be more incomings here to give some competition.

I think the likes of Tomo, Dempsey, Randall, McAtee, Forrester, Forino, Southwood, Schon and hopefully Warren  provide good competition for first 11 places at the moment.

The young lads from last year keen and at the ready too. 

If I was any of the others I’d be worried about my first team future at BWFC.

I’ve probably forgotten somebody! But pretty happy on where we are as a squad at the minute.
