As they don’t see the point, now that they know SS isn’t the man, Sheehan should never start again for us, we’ve got too many points to make up to sustain a promotion challenge, TSL can’t make any saves, our wingers are a liability if needed to defend, Sideway Simons has found his level, Cogley is shit, the highlight of the season beating Wigan has been and gone.…

Oh I know that 😂

All “valid opinions” taken from the Northampton thread.

Have they chose not to turn it on then. They look a bit shit to be honest

I said “can” turn it on not have. Let’s just hope they don’t choose this Saturday to prove it? 😀

Unfortunately Posh are one of those teams who can just turn it on and sadly we are more unpredictable than I can remember. I was so confident of a good win at Northampton and look how that turned out so I honestly haven’t a clue what I expect on Saturday other than the unexpected.

Its getting serious when you're not predicting a 3-0 win 😀 Its a home game and we've turned up in all 5 to date, even the 2 draws were generally impressive performances, especially Reading.  Not having a clue what to expect is stretching it, I'm totally expecting us to dominate and see a lot of entertaining football as per usual.  Nobody can guarantee if the ball will end up in the back of the net (as per Reading/Lincoln games).

Are we allowed to say it’s ’must win’ yet?

I think we are allowed to say that, not just from the points perspective in regard to our stated objectives but….….

because it’s a home game in front of our fans

because Posh have struggled in most games and are in the bottom three so many expect us to win

because the players need a confidence boost and have something to prove

because Schumacher needs a confidence boost and has something to prove

because we need a confidence boost and there will be considerable unrest in some quarters if we don’t win

because the team has issues that need to be addressed and be seen to have been addressed.

On our day we can beat these comfortably but it wasn’t our day against Northampton and we can’t afford another shitshow so soon afterwards.

On the basis that the importance of this game has presumably been drilled into the players and that they know that they have to earn the right to play and work their nads off, I’m predicting a much needed home win.

I’m moving it up to 3-0 to the super whites now 😂

sideways simons was one of my favourites from the recent post mortems :D

There was some classic meltdown behaviour and comments during the game and just after. TSL the moonman and idiotic Schumacher were good, but I agree sideways Simons made me chuckle the most. 😁

My mate from school days is an Everton fan and they had a player called Vinny Samways in the 90s. He was routinely known as Vinny Sideways because of his style of play. Ever since then if someone I come across is called Samways I just can't say anything other Sideways.

City signed Lee Bradbury from Pompey in the 90s for a club record £3mil. He was soon christened Lee Bad Buy and I can never call anyone Bradbury again.

You’re right JR and I hope we absolutely trounce Posh so hope renewed it’s 3-0 to the Mighty Whites. At least 😁

Why would anyone give a fuck what Evatt thinks? Mind boggling.

He was the record La Liga appearance maker for a Brit. Not sure if he’s been overtaken

Appears to be bollocks as Mcmanaman made more in the same time.

maybe Spanish overall combined?

wiki says 160 la palma, sevilla 10, Algeciras 18 - so 188 in total - 74 in top flight, 114 in 2nd

then you've got la liga only

Bale - 176

Beckham - 116

Lineker - 103

McManaman - 94

(Fabian DeFraitas - 48)

Jamie Pollock - 2

A lot of the optimism is based on Posh being 2nd bottom.  Well they're bottom now after Burton's win so they are even worse than they were this afternoon.

CityLust and Bluesince69 will be micro analysing that defeat to death as we speak.

Luton, Huddersfield, Cardiff, Stockport  and Plymouth along with us are all underachieving and inconsistent.

Something forgotten in our insular meltdowns after a defeat, as if we are adrift from the favourites in our league.

Whereas the top 3 will be delighted, nobody would have predicted them 3 being there after 10 games.

One of them might stay around but I suspect at least a couple of them will drop away.

Wide open this league at the moment.

Two achievable wins will keep us well in the mix.

Ricky Lambert just did a piece about it on talksport. Think he's wrote in the mail about it too.

The whole reactionary world we live in today. Society as a whole driven by social media and the likes.

We want instant gratification and have to react to everything all of the time.

Liverpool are now having a blip and their recruitment being bought in to question because they lost to a great Palace team and to a mega dodgy pen in an Istanbul cauldron.

We are all as bad on ere.

Imagine we had social media in 1992/93. Knives wouldn't been out for Rioch before Xmas.

Good to see you are at least consistent.......You got everything wrong back then and you are just the same today!!

That's now a tough game, they're top of this week's form table.

Its 6 months to the day since our last clean sheet away and they've had that many in the last 24 hours.

McGovern and Neal both got us relegated in the 80s and there were hardly any calls for them to be sacked.  All the focus seemed to be on Warbies.

I recall Neal getting a load of stick at Halifax in Div 4 when we drew 0-0 at the Shay on a freezing January night (he made the mistake of playing - not very well - not sure he played again after that), then we lost at home to Torquay and still there was only minimal unrest.

And somehow we got promoted.

To be fair Liverpool have been fairly crap all season by their standards!

Then again so have Arsenal and City.  The only teams I've been impressed with in the entire league are Palace and Sunderland, all the others are justified at having a moan 😀
