Society as a whole driven by social media and the likes. We want instant gratification and have to react to everything all of the time. Liverpool are now having a blip and their recruitment being bought in to question because they lost to a great Palace team and to a mega dodgy pen in an Istanbul cauldron. We are all as bad on ere. Imagine we had social media in 1992/93. Knives wouldn't been out for Rioch before Xmas. To be fair Liverpool have been fairly crap all season by their standards! Then again so have Arsenal and City. The only teams I've been impressed with in the entire league are Palace and Sunderland, all the others are justified at having a moan 😀

October 1, 2025Oct 1 Neal got shit loads of abuse in the play off final. "Sit down you bum"... rang out. Fans turned significantly.

I wasn't aware of much, I was directly behind the goal where Comstive launched it into row Z at 0-0. It was a supportive, if frustrated, atmosphere from what I remember - same as all our many play off final defeats! I was referring to the lack of abuse he got despite getting us relegated in 87. In the current era he would have been sacked, but it was another 4 years till the play off v Tranmere.
October 1, 2025Oct 1 Our fans are so reactionary and toxic they turn up in massive numbers every week to watch a mid-table third tier football team. Evatt had tremendous support until well after the wheels had come off. SS has had basically no stick whatsoever despite the fact his record is awful. We have incredible support, social media isn't real life and before Twitter people would've just been chatting shit in the pub instead.

It was a good turn out from us, nearly 3 times our average crowd of just over 7k. I remember Elton Welsby predicting there'd be more for our game than for the championship play off Notts County v Brighton. They got 60k on 😀

Football fans are, let's say, rather inclined towards 'black and white' thinking when it comes to the ability of the players, manager, and the tea lady.

Yes they were piped through the speakers that hung from the roof! There were so few Tranmere fans you could still read the word Wembley across the seats in their end. Couldn't believe it when that lanky streak of piss Chris Malkin put it in the net right in front of us in ET. IIRC we'd beaten them home and away that season.. Beat them at home 2-1, drew 1-1 on a Friday night. Felt like a big game, over 10k on, for some reason I was in the seats for away fans instead of the packed terrace, and they put us in the main stand at the opposite end, surrounded by Tranmere.

We had a coach from Athy, all in fancy dress, I recall a Tranmere fan complaining to a copper that he had been twatted by Dick Turpin
October 2, 2025Oct 2 Love the fact that Darragh MacAntony called their last performance “dog shit” and “a kick in the bollocks” having spent so much money on transfers. I know we wouldn’t expect that kind of comment from Sharon, even if we deserved it, but there’s something right about an owner calling out the manager and players for shit performances - it is his money after all. After that I have no doubt Posh will be fired up and MacAntony is right - he’s paid for better.

He can give all the playing staff grief if he wants, but simple management skills say "not like that". It is his club, and if he sees fit to behave in such an unprofessional manner, then so be it. However, he will reap what he sows. A total nobber. I hope we put even more past them now.

Either way, he’s neither management nor staff - he’s the ultimate customer - a customer who feels he’s been sold an expensive (shitting) pup, along with the other customers who paid to watch it and phoned in to the same podcast to say so. And whilst we’re talking cliches, “the customer is always right”. Seems to me there’s a logical disconnect between it being acceptable for paying fans to criticise the manager and players - as many come on here to do - and it not being ok for investors, who spend £millions on them, to express their views likewise.

If he's pissed off with the manager he can just sack him, again, for the fourth time
