  • Don’t normally post personal stuff. Yesterday was a tough day taking my mum & dad to various hospital appointments. Life eh. Didn’t get a ticket as didn’t know what time we’d be done. Got back hom

  • We get an equaliser in injury time , a centre forward who has not really performed since he got here rather than celebrating he gets the ball to get the game restarted quickly. Great attitude.

  • YOU FUCKING BEAUTIES. GET TO FUCK ALL THOSE WHO WROTE US OFF AFTER 7 MINUTES, YOU COWARDLY CUNTS

But I bet you’re sat next to a mate that you talk to constantly through the game. Some positive things, some criticisms said in the heat of the moment, some general reflections on longer term trends.

That’s why I don’t get why people get so wound up with posts during a game, especially an away game. It’s generally people doing exactly the same because they can’t say it to the person next to them, it’s an outlet of frustration, it’s emotionally charged, I’ve said it before but there’s nothing that can wind me up like watching Bolton.

We scored two brilliant goals, got an amazing result which will hopefully kick us on and all is well in the world, I was jumping around a bar in Rhodes with people wondering what the fuck was going on - it doesn’t change that JDC failing to pick someone out in the 6 yard box on the 50th minute or whatever is seriously frustrating and I still think he’s shit. I still think a defence including JDC, Toal and Johnston won’t go up because it’s too weak (as is already proven), despite getting 2 goals in injury time.

But it was fucking mint. We did play well in the second half, we deserved the win, Dalby’s header is quality, Burstow’s assist is the best thing that happened in the whole match - that piece of play from your forward in the 96th minute is class.

That game is the turning point of the season. 90 minutes in it was looking like it could be season down the drain, 96th minute the title is back on. The ups and downs of watching the whites.

Nowt wrong at all with talking to people at the game or posting opinions on here, but calling your own players and manager "fucking shit" after 7 minutes is fucking pathetic. I don't understand the mindset.

Arguing about arguing here. I hope this place never changes 😁

How anyone is not just grinning from ear to ear still after that is beyond. That's the shit we live for as football fans. Lost my shit when that second went in, hugging strangers in the stands in a shared moment of absolute joy. How it bloody well should be 🥳

Huddersfield away is decent for us.

Last season we went there when they were on a 16 match unbeaten run, sorted that.

Tonight would have seen us on our worst away run for 5 years ,  sorted that.

Can we play there every week?  There's something about that ground/pitch that often brings out the best in both the team and the fans, I've always thought that, going back to the Holdsworth/Ian Marshall days.

If only we could bottle that and bring it out at the Burtons and Northamptons.  We could win 5-0 at either of those and I don't think the match would be as entertaining to watch and the crowd noise wouldn't get near.  Stevenage unfortunately will be like playing in a different division, win lose or draw it's not going to be a great watch or spectacle.

Watching the game back , how the fuck did the ref give them a free kick on the edge of their area for challenge by Sheehan ?

They seemed to suggest handball after he landed but fuck knows .

That was the 9th time we've played against a side with Alfie May in it, apart from the Birmingham Globetrotters 2-0 win against us last season he hasn't been on a winning side against us. Which surprised me, he must hate playing us.

Even when we lost 1-0 down at Cheltenham a few years back he wasn't playing.....in his place - Dan Nlundulu.

On another note that was Dion Charles 26th appearance for Huddersfield without breaking his duck.

It's a slow afternoon in the office....

He was awful that ref I didn’t see if Sheehan had touched the ball blatant foul.

I'm not having the Ian Marshall days as a named era of our history 😀

That's why Cheese said more consistent.

Consistency is the operative word.

Followed by Execution.

I didn't quote Cheese because it wasn't totally aimed at his post (and also because I didn't want to interrupt him posting the same thing once an hour, every hour).

People do say quite often on here 'if he could do it every week he wouldn't be in L1' as a way of excusing poor performances. Really, if they can't be good in L1 most weeks then they're not even good L1 players. Nevermind anything higher. And Tutu definitely falls into that bracket.

Popped on here at half time last night and was surprised to see the level of criticism aimed at the first half performance. Appreciate we've struggled (results wise) away from home, but i thought first half last night was pretty decent from the 15 minute mark. Huddersfield started quickly, but i can barely recall a 'proper' chance they created in the game.

We dominated the game from 30 mins onwards, and should really have won by a wider margin. Efforts from Conway, Forss and Burstow in the first half, plus JDC putting one across goal. Second half efforts from McAtee, Osei Tutu across goal and others i have no doubt forgot, plus the 2 actual goals.

We absolutely need to be more clinical to stop the away form trend, but the performances have largely been good all season away from home.

Said since around game 3 i think we will get promoted, and sticking with it.

Couple of broader mentions;

TSL still underwhelms me. Long range effort from them first half which looked fairly routine and he pushed in back into the danger area. He was also pretty flat footed on the goal. Whether it was saveable i don't know, but his body language didn't look great.

SS has nailed his colours to the Xavier Simons mast. I'm unconvinced if i'm honest. Some good performances and some anonymous.

ACD's best game for us last night. What a threat is he is, and his workrate to track back is better than most wingers i've seen.

I want Osei Tutu to come good. Has all the attributes and showed them in glimpses in the second half, but he knows how to look disinterested. I wonder if he is one of those who will finish his career and wonder how far he 'could' have gone.

Anyway, 2 home games coming up. 4 points minimum, but 6 ideally. We'll be in the top 4 by Xmas!

Really good summary, but missing one key thing: the midfield.

Sheehan’s class was a big step-up. Huddersfield knew this and were kicking and fouling him throughout (or trying to). Of course, it was Sheehan who got booked for virtually nothing!

Despite this, we couldn’t break through, so Schumacher replaced Simons with Morley. This level of creativity in the centre, created more space for Tutu and, especially, ACD. It wasn’t simply a case of full backs getting tired; instead of doubling up on the wingers, Huddersfield players were pulled into the centre.

And the winner came from Morley driving out of defence, before releasing Burstow. The rest, especially ACDs blindside run and finish, was excellent, but it was all initiated by Morley.

These two (unbelievably) get a lot of stick on here, with many seemingly thinking the steel of Simons and Erhahon is all that’s required. It’s silk and steel that will deliver for us.

If they're not consistent enough to do it in League 1, they'll be in League 2 or lower. If they're on top of their game week in-week out, they'll get to the Championship. And if they're good enough to have  a hand in getting us promoted..... Have a think about it.

The higher up the pyramid, the more sheer athleticism plays a part

Also, the higher the league, the quicker the pace of play - players are closed down quicker, there's less space because the opposition are better at their positioning, have greater speed of thought, and so on

It's very possible a player can be consistently good in one league but not good enough for the league above

That was fucking superb. I've got no voice left, and my pal will have a cracking shiner tomorrow after I got rather limby after that second. Sorry 🫠

To whoever returned their ticket after Burton and let me jump in last minute, right behind the goal, thank you. 3 of the best minutes I've ever had at a game. And I do think we deserved it - one way traffic for much of it, chance after chance. Please, from now on, let's just take them a bit earlier!!!

Make your mind up, its one or the other 😀

It is very possible. It's almost like footballers are humans, each having their own individual level of skill and athleticism which eventually defines the trajectory of their career (along with injuries etc). Mad innit. But our lot are all just fucking shit, so there's no need for further discussion.

His Mrs gave birth to another kid the other day, I believe. The entire period from conception through pregnancy to birth and he hasn’t scored a single goal is some going for an international striker.

I'm surprised he even made the squad last night, let alone played

Just back.....& at half time I wondered what I was doing there. A soft goal conceded, a lacklustre performance & our dimmest "fans", the boo boys killing the atmosphere

but, 2nd half, the large majority got behind the team, drowned out the moaners & the team responded with a spirited fightback & that wonderful finish.

I think the celebrations will be remembered for a long time !!! lets hope it's the start of a run. EIEIEIIfuckingO.

Yeah, the atmosphere for much of the 2nd half was outstanding for a team losing (contrast to previous 2 aways) but it seemed very flat in the 1st half on TV.  The usual we are the only and only wanderers for a bit while it was 0-0 then it sounded like a pre-season friendly till H-T.  I remember thinking I bet there's loads of negative chat in the away end, not much to sing about although we played half decent from about 20 minutes on.  Not quite the same when you're losing and kicking towards far end.

I keep commenting that no team has been good enough to have a proper go at our defence, because I think we are a shambles when under attack. I thought after their early goal that Huddersfield would be the first to do just that. But we finished the first half on top and totally dominated the 2nd half. It turns out that Huddersfield were pretty poor. And they've spent bigger than us.

Maybe Cardiff will have a go, but I'm also thinking we might be decent overall at this level.

Best team won, but our chance conversion rate is still troubling.

Great away support, probably played a big part of the high momentum.

Can anyone remember us ever scoring two very late /injury time goals to come back from 1-0 down away from home before? I can think of a few examples at home down the years but I am really struggling to come up with an away from parallel of last night.

I'm fairly sure its never happened with 2 in injury time.  I'd be interested in which games you have in mind at home?  Again, I can't recall any, Crawley was decent last season but only the last goal was injury time.

The difference with 90-oddth minute winners at home compared to away is half the crowd have already left at home and as good as it is, it dilutes the "limbs" a bit 😀

The nearest i could think of was a 2-2 draw at Stockport in the 80s in the Freight Rover and that's not even close to what happened last night!

That'll go down as one our great night's, deserving to be mentioned alongside Hull, Everton, Arsenal etc

I was there, and you're right, it didn't come close!  About 300 of us celebrating as if we'd done something special and it was a group game against a team a division below 😀
