  • Sam Dalby. The man was possessed today, one of the best striker performances I’ve seen for us in ages. Hold up play, link up play, winning duels, getting us up the pitch, threat from set pieces/crosse

I think there should be some mention of the Grade A shithousery by the WSL faithful when we were under the pump at the death. Barnsley rush the spare ball to their long throw specialist, he’s winding

That’s kind of the point. It’s no coincidence that Dalby’s renaissance has coincided with McAtee’s upturn in form. It’s almost as if two players with differing styles can actually complement each othe

What for one minute?

I put it down to Evening News standards in shit can’t be arsed checking. So long as we get the extra 9 minutes at the end for our late goals I can live with it.

Every minute does indeed count as anyone just missing last orders or the last train home will testify .

Incredible to think that Barnsley currently have FIVE games in hand on us.

WTF?

Even if they win them all they'd still be below us. Nowt to worry about.

By a point - which is all the more reason to beat them at home.

Not concerned about the threat - more gobsmacked about the number of games postponed and their schedule - how is that allowed to happen?

They didn't play on 2 international weekends when we did, and in Jan they've got 5 league games compared to our 8.

The extras were our rearranged game at Stevenage (our choice), the fact that they were in the 3rd round of the FA Cup and Vale away postponed, frozen pitch.

Its an advantage to them that any signings they make in Jan will have 5 extra games to play compared to our signings, better VFM for loan fees etc.

They play Stevenage twice between now and 10th Feb!  For once we get advantage of them having a midweek game before we play them and we get the week off.

If they win all five would still be behind us in league, they have won 2 of last 10 and lost 5. wheels seem to have come of let’s hope that continues for at least another 8 days.

They play midweek this week too ahead of this one.

They looked really strong today when they battered Stevenage. Connell was spraying it around like Pirlo and they were ruthless. Hopefully they’ll be knackered at the weekend, but they’re no pushovers.

good to see, after the recent fixture congestion and now having been knocked out the PJ cup, that we only have 2 midweek games till the end of the season

How have you found time to watch another 90 minute game today

There's folk on here must watch 5 games a day as well as all our youth team games.

I managed 3 live games (us, Chelsea, Liverpool), half of Soccer Saturday and 2nd half of Tempest v Whitehaven LIVE.

Wife’s away for the weekend, we kicked off early and I didn’t go out for a pint until 6 - watching MOTD now. Should have being doing some jobs outside but fuck it - Saturday is for football.

They're also wildly inconsistent, having been smashed by Cardiff 4-0 on Tuesday, their defence is terrible, and likely to lose Cleary and Keillor-Dunn on Monday.

Also vastly different away compared to at home.

Lost 3 and drawn 3 of their last 6 away games - conceding 14!

A week on the training pitch, likely at least another signing or two (and as you say them likely to lose their better players) and we should be in a great place to carry the run on.

Keillor-Dunn grabbed a brace yesterday - would suit us if he’s not around, ideally in a different league. Unless we sign him 😀

It’s a swop deal for McAtee and they also give us £500k

These have a good recent record at Bolton. Evatt failed to win any of his 5 home games against Barnsley in the league and play offs.

and FA Cup & League Cup

though we won the latter on pens

not beat them at home since 2017

For once it actually feels like it’s a been a while since we played them

Still had to trot out the old line yesterday though

”who have we got next week?”

”Barnsley again”
