  • Sam Dalby. The man was possessed today, one of the best striker performances I’ve seen for us in ages. Hold up play, link up play, winning duels, getting us up the pitch, threat from set pieces/crosse

I think there should be some mention of the Grade A shithousery by the WSL faithful when we were under the pump at the death. Barnsley rush the spare ball to their long throw specialist, he’s winding

That’s kind of the point. It’s no coincidence that Dalby’s renaissance has coincided with McAtee’s upturn in form. It’s almost as if two players with differing styles can actually complement each othe

Cringey AI slop. Best saved for Facebook that sort of tackle.

Bit of a sideways move.

Playing for Evatt?

Nah that'd be a backwards move.

And then sideways. Then backwards, then sideways and then….

Conceded 32 in their last 12 these men. Average of over 2.5 a game.

so it’ll inevitably be a low scoring one…

Actually looking forward to a Barnsley game.

4-1 victory,  we all go home/pub happy and a couple on here moan that we conceded 1.

Would be nice but I’d be happy with any win, any way.

Good performance and no injuries would be the icing.

Well defensively Barnsley aren’t the best and the keeper is a big concern to them so we could be catching them at just the right time. I was surprised how much they capitulated the other night when Northampton made it 2-2 and they could easily have ended up losing so not wishing to be over confident because Barnsley do still carry several threats we could come out of this with a comfortable win?

Any win will do... I think it'll be a tight affair. 2-2, or 2-1 us. I think there'll be goals (nostradamus, ere!)

Doesn’t look like Kenny or Rodrigues will be included and Sheehan won’t be risked so it’s same squad as last week with Conway still not fit

Mentioned last week be a while before Rodriquez is up to speed.

He's played 4 times since May

would have expected kenny to be on the bench though

The starting XI from Wimbledon deserve to stay in the side. They've also had a week to recover with an extra day off last week

I've no problem with the same line-up and I think it will be just that

Left back does concern me with Conway still not back, not because I'm one of those that thinks Johnston is one of our worst ever, but I just think it leaves us very imbalanced. Not least against these as well, I know they're in a bit of a rutt and will be reeling from the Keillor-Dunn sale, but their strength is definitely on the wings with Cleary and now Banks added.

Happy with that.

Remember the old days "Dont change a winning team"

Having read the BN, there is nothing that states Conway is definitely unavailable.

Is there another source?

I think I've seen us play Barnsley more than any other team.

Wigan 33

Barnsley 19

Blackburn 18

Birmingham & Sheff Weds 17

I’m predicting a low scoring victory.

But because people have been lulled into a false positivity that Barnsley are rubbish, our new signings will score lots of goals and we are due a convincing win, this thread will have an imbalance of negativity and we’ll be reading more about what the problems are, how SS should fix it and how some players just don’t look good enough.

Rather than celebrating 16/18 points and another home win.

Don't forget booing at HT when we're not 3-0 up

There you go with your usual negativity!  Get with the programme.

We're a different team since we struggled to get results at home over the last couple of months.

You're not taking into account that we've just signed the EFL equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters.  They'll be strutting their stuff against a Barnsley team who are conceding for fun, have just sold their only decent player and are 14th for a reason.

Turn up, sit back, and watch the annihilation unfold 😀

It will be interesting to see the starting line up - I’m just not convinced Kenny will start even though he’s fit and Rodrigues is unlikely - neither have had enough time. Happy with the signings but this game seems too early - who knows with 3 days training under their belts?

The “no easy games” mantra is ringing in my ears and I can’t remember the last “comfortable win” we had  so I’m expecting another traumatic 90 odd minutes.

Maybe comfortable wins will start coming when the team beds in? I know we’re due one.

But we have to win this game and I am bracing myself for another rollercoaster ride in this highly entertaining (albeit stressful at times) season.
