onefinfrandsen Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Points always a good result away from home, but they were there for the taking tonight. Quote

They're a proper outfit. They will lose some games, but so will we. We'd have to go on some run and they'd have to have a major blip. Playoffs it is. Quote

But it's a great squad to be taking into the playoffs.. Big disappointment to be in February and only have the playoffs to go for. Baring a major blip, it will be a surreal couple of months and we may have a number of games with nothing to play for. The issue with the play offs is that to win them, you have to play 2 games away from your own ground. Which is a massive issue for us Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Wembley wouldn't concern me from that point of view. A draw away wouldn't be a result neither. Quote

A lack of quality letting us down and even the most glass half full supporter must think 2nd is beyond us now. I don’t see Lincoln dropping off on their form and I do see us having a late season blip. Thinking about Lincoln ended at 5.00 on Saturday. We've some improving to do to consolidate the play off position, the only focus for now, SS getting more out of the (apparent) embarrassment of forward riches and getting us well clear of the chasers before those nasty games in April. We got 1 a couple of minutes earlier and I said "right Christie, this is what you're on for" and 20 seconds later we've taken it short 😠 Quote

But I'm gutted we've got nothing else to play for. Our away form overall has cost us that. Quote

He also provides a bit of bite and defensive ability that allows for full backs going forward. He also takes a better corner than the others. Dempsey has scored 34 goals in 450 games. That’s roughly 3 a season I’d expect more than that from a centre back 13 goals in 114 appearances for us. So one in 9. So on roughly 5 per season which is steady but doesn’t suggest someone we can rely on for goals. I like Dempsey. I just don’t think he’s that good. His corners were right on the money against Barnserley though Quote
Popular Post Lostock Whites Posted February 17 Popular Post Posted February 17 I think for me personally I'm just looking at us consolidating play off now and 3rd place if we can. Anything else would be a bonus, still lots of football to be played however. We're all dreading the thought of play offs, but I'm more confident under Schuey and this team, who's to say we can't win it 3rd time lucky. Lincoln & Reading Away back to back is tough and we haven't lost. Not good enough for top 2 but let's try and get some wins now starting with the Donkeys on Saturday. Gonna try and keep as positive as I can. No point being all doom and gloom to be honest as frustrating as it is. Quote
boltonboris Posted February 17 Posted February 17 To be fair. If we beat Blackpool and Lincoln drop points we’re back to where we were and that positivity might set in again. Here’s hoping we don’t shit the bed on Saturday Quote
Ros Coe Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Hope Rodrigues is fit enough to start on Saturday, he’s a class act! Kenny could be in for a treat getting onto to some pinpoint through balls. Quote

The run they have when they play their game in hand is tough. Every team has a bad run at some point. Quote

His corners were right on the money against Barnserley though This season he is our best scoring midfielder in terms of frequency, and possibly overall. He offers more defensively as I said. If that allows us to to score just the one, and not concede, then it's enough. Past seasons are irrelevant- it's what is happening this that counts. Quote

Their run in is similar to ours in terms of toughness and I think they have more mental fortitude than we have. I think if we were on the same points they’d still finish above us Quote

Johnnyrotten Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Conway was absolutely outstanding in possession. Folk will rightly point to him being AWOL for the goal, but for the other 98 minutes, he was on a different level to everyone else on the pitch. Back to his best tonight, with pace, strength, dribbling, passing and energy. Oh, and we played well overall, some excellent stuff at times. Reading were piss poor. It would have been an absolute joke if their defensive mindset had paid off. If we're in the play offs, please can we play them? Quote
RUREADY2ROLL Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Lincoln and Reading Away and didn’t lose one; tonight we battered the form team but missed chances yet again. Quote

But I guess at some point we've just gotta keep looking forward and not back. Wigan made us their little bitches for a long time and we felt sick having to play them. Schuey has made them the joke now instead. It's gonna happen and I think we are better than those in the play offs currently. With ACD coming back in the run in you never know, why not. Quote
Not in Crawley Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I'd rather have Schumacher than Evatt any day of the week. Quote
