Anyhoo, it’s a tough one but we’re at home. All of a sudden, they are 2 points off the playoffs and have a game in hand on Huddersfield in 6th so there’s no way they won’t be fired up for this. They’ve been scoring for fun at home this last month, less so away but they have players all over the park that can find the net including Mr Morley, formerly of this parish.

They must be thinking playoffs in which case they need something off us…..but we’re not going to give them anything are we?

I feel a bit for Apter and Kenny just wasn’t their game and got outmuscled and didn’t get any service.  Burstow would never ever start at RW for me offers nothing to start but when he comes on he’s better.  Alter starts until Duberry is fit

And does that policy say that the EFL won’t install and pay for it or that clubs specifically banned from using it? (It’s all in the small print and usually EFL policy is full of loopholes)
If the former we should install our own and flash it on to the big screens.

I’d imagine it’s more cost based for the smaller clubs but if clubs are able to afford it why shouldn’t they be allowed to use it? There are a good many technical advances used by some and not others like undersoil heating which I’d say can have a much bigger effect on results. VAR is different and much more complicated and expensive to implement but surely goal line technology is a pretty simple system to install and it doesn’t favour one side or the other as it will be used by both teams in assisting the officials.

Grounds already differ in pitch length, width and surface quality. 
Officials differ every game.

Some grounds having Goal Line Technology and others not would just be another of the many variables that teams encounter every week.

its a little like saying teh cardiff-licoln game could have played without linesmen, as it would have been the same for both sides. But not the other 22 teams in the division.

 

As far as size is concerned, all the clubs are under the same rules, have GLT at one ground, but not at others means not all matches have the same rules applied. Adn that, quite correctly, is not allowed.

Credits deservedly go to CBT but just try focusing on Dempseys performance…..his every touch, cross and pass was exactly what we missed in the first half. Excellent cameo, but he goes under the radar a bit these days perhaps because he is a water carrier.

Since we got back into L1, we've been 2 down at home 18 times in the league.  110 games, so roughly every 6th.

It happened 6 times last season, but Saturday was the first for a year - also against Wycombe.

Out of the 18 we've lost 13, drawn 3, won 2.  Both wins have been in the last 3: Crawley 4-3 was the only other in 5 years.

Wigan and Wycombe have been 2 up here an unacceptable 3 times each and Shrewsbury twice (we drew both 2-2).

It isn't though is it.

Everyone used them to get make technical decisions, and make the game professional. 

Common sense.

We're referring to additional technology to help them make those decisions more accurately. 

They use a whistle rather than shout- useful over crowd noise. 

The efl could quite readily permit its use, and clubs install it if they want.

Or the efl pay for it.

Because the clubs would have to vote for it to be introduced

Basically, anything technology-related within the match itself has to be voted on and ratified by the EFL members; things like undersoil heating and actually getting the match on doesn't.

Get your point, but it was used the FA cup this weekend and not in any of the earlier rounds.

So you could knocked out in the 4th round due to a shite decision, but then go through in the 5th due to VAR.

It's all bollox

We all know the pitfalls of VAR, but the goal pine technology is absolute.

If it's there, use it.

Yep, don't agree with it at all. 

Shouldn't be in the fa cup whatsoever. 

If it can't be used from the preliminary rounds onwards it shouldn't be used at all. 

Was a big discussion last week on TS about how the earlier rounds were much better and no controversy without it
