League One Playoffs 2026

Not a bad result Saturday which saw us the first team mathematically confirmed in this season's playoffs. Think all the games are likely to be tight, it's the first time for a while I can remember where no-one has confirmed they final position in the playoffs ahead of final day. The fact the current 4 have just 3 points between them indicates how tight the division has been this year. Normally have at least one team a few points ahead having given the automatics a real challenge like us 2 years ago, but having said that I'm glad we aren't coming into them this season having been pipped to autos and having that disappointment hanging over us.

I suppose the questions are:

1) Will we finish 3rd/4th and nick that home advantage for the 2nd leg?

2) Who else gets in?

3) Who would you rather face?

EFL put out an "all you need to know about the play offs" article yesterday. Apart from the ko times for the finals ๐Ÿ˜€

  • If we win the 2nd leg of the play offs any fan attempting to enter the pitch after the game needs setting fire to. And any player drinking beer in the stands needs throwing down the stairs from W

  • Not bothered who we get or when. Think itโ€™s our time.

Whatever happens we need those clacker things back for the home semi.

I've still got ours from last time, because I'm a sad cunt.

re build the defence and look at autos next season

Ya know Iโ€™m actually a lot more optimistic about another year in this league given the financial situation facing those coming down from the Champ.ย

I think SS would be the man to carry on as well.

I know itโ€™s madness talk given the playoffs havenโ€™t even started.ย

Iโ€™m not confident we can do it this year. But Iโ€™m getting fucking excited. Is there anything you love & hate more than the playoffs ? Itโ€™s an incredible way to go up if we do.

Worried about our defence & game management โ€ฆ but our never say die attitude is leaving me with some hope

So we could play Bradford in the semi or the final . Trains from over here would be a nightmare if we play Bradford.

On the same day Leeds are at West Ham and Newcastle at Fulham, as it is a Sunday think there are fewer trains than normal.ย

No trains between Darlington and York, so that takes Newcastle out of the equation!

Our record in play off finals is:

LWLWL

Being ever so slightly OCD, this means weโ€™re scheduled to win, should we navigate the semi final. ๐Ÿ˜€

Playoffs best time of the year for football... unless you're involved in them and then they are horrendous. I think come 5pm Saturday when opponents are confirmed the nerves will kick in.

Wai for all the allocation debates to start on Monday next week!

They have not announced kick off time for final. ย

Last game of the Premier League season same day, I'd be shocked if we aren't kicking off at 1pm.

Somewhere between then 2 I would guess.ย

I can see it being 12.30pm

That would discourage a few from going, the earlier set off and less drinking flattening the pre-match vibe (as per all 12.30 KOs)

Why wait ๐Ÿ˜€ย Presume we'll get the same allocations we got in the league, somewhere between 1k and 1.2k for Luton, Stevenage, Stockport or Plymouth; Bradford 2.3ish.

We have to give a minimum 2k for the home leg, maybe give Bradford slightly more if they reciprocate.

I agree entirely, just cant see it being any other time? They wont upset the Premier League applecart!

Charlton and Orient fans needed to set their alarms for 11.01

If we get stockport i really hope we give them the same as they give us, about 700 aint it.ย ย

Barnsley didnโ€™t. Both sets of away fans were capped at 2000.

2k or 10%, whichever is lower, is what you have to give in the play offs for away allocation.

So can only see us getting the full 2k at Bradford. All others we'll have to give 2k but get a smaller allocation back

I imagine if it's Bradford we'd only get behind the goal for the away leg.

Whoever it is stick them in South Upper and give them the bare minimum.

There's no point giving away fans more than the minimum allocation; the EFL take 50% of the revenue of all 4 semifinal matches.
