Bradford Home - 1st Leg Saturday 9th May

Same process as before - you can secure your own seats.

Need to put yesterday’s disappointment behind us and fill the place.

Let’s take a good lead over to Bradford.

On the piss in the afternoon prior to an 8pm kick-off on a Saturday, should make it a belting atmosphere under the lights.

COYFWM 👏

Johnston gets a lot of shit, he was great tonight and clearly really fired up for it. The right attitude for the next two games.

I can't think of a player I don't like in this squad, can only think of a couple in the last couple of years I didn't enjoy watching.

I just thought Simons looked after the ball better, didn't give away as many fouls and was more attack minded.

EE might play at Bradford and be MOTM like he was a couple of times earlier in the season, and if he is as usual I'll say it as I see it on a game to game basis.

No problem with that… I certainly didn’t see it that way. E.E. Was excellent….and Simon’s only came on after 71 minutes and I didn’t even notice anything he did.

We can't really discuss him if you didn't notice him!  He played well IMO, after being awful in his previous appearances a few months ago.

EE was excellent at times but I definitely wasn't imagining his misplaced passes in the first half, its just about how much he compensated with the good stuff, fair enough if it was a lot.

Other than a few early misplaced passes I thought Erhahon contributed really well to a hard working, dominant, midfield performance. I just love the balance and protection he brings to that left side.

But I’ll also give Simons a lot of credit too. I’ve re-watched the game this afternoon, he got some vital challenges and clearances in.

Similarly both Mcatee and Dalby had fine cameos too.

I agree.  I was just surprised anyone thought we dominated the entire game.

2nd half, they had that run through when someone challenged as last man and Bonham spilled it, there was the Sarcevic chance he surprisingly put wide (at 0-0), the cross from their overlapping left back when someone was coming in at pen spot, could have gone on target but went to their man 6 yards out, put it wide but was offside; 4 corners in 2nd half - not saying they are chances, just moments we held our breath and hoped for the best.  Course - we had as many chances if not more at the other end and the one that hit the post was freakish, I was celebrating properly and thought it was a wind up when someone said no goal.

1-0 to us about right, I never thought we dominated in terms of being all over them for long spells and/or creating loads, it was a really tight game and I expect the same on Thursday.

Aye we didn't dominate for 90 mins but I thought we were the better team and should've won by more than 1-0.

They had their moments but as ever we controlled most of the game but still only came away with a goal. The defence was superb and so was our midfield.

Loved the pace of EEs passing, nice crisp balls and Sheehan is just simply our heartbeat.

Gonna be a few anxiety ridden days coming up but we are a really good team and they'll be scared of us.

Forino is class. Proper no nonsense centreback gets in the way of everything.

Just been reading the comments through and you're the first to single out Forino.  Our group of 6 had him hands down MOM by a mile.  Yes Toal and Johnston were at their best (Tutu less so) but CF was not only a rock, winning all his duals in the air and on the ground, but outstanding in possession.  I can't remember one occasion he did anything that I thought he could have improved.  As near to a 10 out of 10 as I've seen from a Bolton player this season.

SS didn't pick him for about 3 months.

CF is apparently still unhappy about being sidelined for three months, but I'm sure he'll get over it if we go up.

That's how I saw it too, I've got the game to watch but not sure whether to myself through it again even knowing the result!

Always keep hold of yer pie!

He probably realises he's in the team because SS prefers Johnston at LB to Conway currently.

If I'm not mistaken CF remains the only CB to be dropped when available, if Toal and GJ are fit they play without exception.

So if we sign another LB for next season that puts GJ back in the centre, he knows he'll probably be back on the bench.

That's for another day, but if I was him I'd be reviewing my options/having a chat in the summer because he's better than the bench in L1 (a different scenario for everyone if its championship).

Erhahan is vey tidy with the ball most of the time , occasionally giving it away due maybe to over confidence. He slides the ball rather than passes it .Precision in motion.I prefer him further up the park which is a contradiction given his tag as a defensive midfielder. He worked well with Cissoko & personally wouldn’t change that.We have to be on the front foot in the second leg & my sense is that rhs of their defence is their weak spot .

I hope GJ is nowhere near our starting 11 next season regardless of what division we are in.

Played well last night like. But we really do need a new left back and another CB or two.

That's my good mate, been to away games with him, I'm sat a couple of rows in front.

Loves a pie.

“Georgie johnstones tangerine…”

In the second half we sussed with their obsession with doubling up on Cissoko we just needed a midfielder to run beyond or inbetween them and pass it on. They never twigged on what was happening.

I don't know if he's out of contract (presume not) but there are at least 3 reasons he'll be here if SS is: 1.  He's a left footed CB 2. He can also play LB at a decent level, so can cover 2 positions unlike say Forino or Dalby 3. He hasn't been dropped once this season, a virtual ever present.  If SS only keeps 2 under contract players next season it will be Sheehan and GJ, IMO.

OK things may change if he's out of contract, other factors at play then, the obvious one being we offer him 2 years and another club offers him 3 or 4.

I'd rather we offer him none.

I like the lad and he's been on the whole great for us. But we need better imo.

I thought EE was immense, dropped into the back line when needed, broke play up in midfield and put pressure on them constantly.

Obv fitness is an issue but he does get around.

For me, him and Simons are very similar players, that being Simons is better on the ball, EE better at breaking it up.

I don't think we'd see them both on the pitch at the same time as they're similar, just glad to have them both back.

Did anyone see Apter having a fitness test/training alone before kick off..

Nailed on I was told Evatt wants him as captain for next season.

I'll be honest I'd forgotten Apter was still here.
