Bradford Home - 1st Leg Saturday 9th May

Same process as before - you can secure your own seats.

Need to put yesterday’s disappointment behind us and fill the place.

Let’s take a good lead over to Bradford.

On the piss in the afternoon prior to an 8pm kick-off on a Saturday, should make it a belting atmosphere under the lights.

COYFWM 👏

Johnston gets a lot of shit, he was great tonight and clearly really fired up for it. The right attitude for the next two games.

Suppose that'll do

Should've been 2-0

Can't see them scoring two more then us at their place

They were shite

Bonham was too

So long as the defence are as up and as solid as they were today, we will be reet

Rose, Davison , Ward , Clarke . Gilkes , Solid no real worries but always a chance of a balls up

Farnworth , Alnwick & the other one bang average .
Amos , Bogdan , Baxter , Shilton , Southwood , Salmon scared the crap out of me  .

Oh and by the way that crowd is absolute bull shit. We’ve gone back to the Burnden days of fiddling the crowd for tax returns.

Only now it’s so we don’t have to declare to the EFL how much we’ve received from tickets sold.

And the twisted irony in all of this, is that we’ve gone through the last 4 years of over inflating crowds, declaring kids tickets as bums on seats.

It was as rammed as I’ve ever known it in ESL north side.

There was more in today at “22,700” than there was last week at over “25,000”

You just don’t get a real reflection of attendance anymore.

Definitely. Yes we had 3 blocks missing in the south lower, so 2k-ish missing but the rest of the stadium was pretty much packed out. The ESL concourse was just a surge of people driving you towards the loo whether you wanted to go or not.

And for every seat not taken elsewhere the crazy corner is 2 people to every seat by the looks of it with people in the stairwells.

Looked more like 25k to me and the atmosphere was great, despite the ref injury stoppage killing things for 10mins.

Really solid home first leg performance.

Taking a lead into the second and importantly a clean sheet / limiting them to so few chances was exactly what we were after.

1-0 is obviously slender - if the second goes in then it’s the perfect result and performance but we were just unlucky, he couldn’t have done anything else.

There was a Bradford fan on the phone heading back to the train saying that he’s more than happy with the result because he just didn’t want it to be 4-0 - I think that shows both what they think of us, but also that this is far from over, they’re happy with just a 1 goal deficit to turn over at home.

I’d agree with the assessments of all the players so far but would just add that Forino was once again top class - he’s a proper defender (and will need to be as good on Thursday).

Like others have said, score first on Thursday and I think it’s done. They’re nowhere near as good as us but they’ve shown all season that they will find a way to be competitive.

Sticking by my prediction that ACD is the difference and he’ll score again on Thursday.

Up the whites, these next 4 days are going to drag!

Real battling performance considering there wasn’t the easy route of hitting Dalby up top or sticking it in the channels for Kenny.

Goal was up there with best limbs at the Reebok.

Nam Ploy absolutely chocker pre match, we really do need a proper pub up there.

EFL finance bods check the reporting so it absolutely will have been the correct crowd. Odd empty seats were all over the place and it soon mounts up.

There were plenty of mainly single empty seats around us and a few “strangers” in seats normally taken by STH holders, and I’m near the halfway line in ESL. So crowd looked about right, but cracking atmosphere.

As for the game we missed Kenny’s runs into the channels, but it did allow us to slot Erhahon back in and he made the left side look much more secure than it has been.

Game of two halves. First half lacked intensity. 2nd half we played with more intent & that was the difference. They were very negative which didn’t help. We can be happy with that. A similar show from us should get the job done as we are the better side. Stadium was bouncing last night, pure passion. Onwards.

I think it having EE and Simons back playing a part might prove to be a big thing

Neither are match fit but that can be managed by brining one off for the other

EE made a noticeable difference to the midfield, ruben and Sheehan benefited with having that extra body in their . Toal and Johnstone back to there best specially distributing from the back. Tutu did his fair share of defending, unfair not to mention the whole team who like the crowd were up for the battle. A great night in horwich but it’s only halftime. COME ON YOU WHITES.

If you think most of our big attendances feature one or both of a) away side fills the South Stand and b) unused season tickets are included in the number.

21,000+ people present in the three main home ends won't happen very often. So I'm not surprised it felt busier.

Team performance they all did there bit same again Thursday and Wembley here we come!

I'm convinced Sarcevic got injured last night.

He had a chance that he hit wide in the 2nd half and he was limping like fuk for quite a while after and didn't do much for the rest of the game.

Presumed Humphrys was injured given he didn’t play at all yesterday - just checked and seen he was on the bench but unused, that’s a massive surprise. I wouldn’t mind not seeing him at all on Thursday as well but expect that won’t be the case!

He did seem to be struggling for the last 20 minutes and before then he wasn’t very mobile but then he is 34 so if they do go up I can’t see him playing much of a part in the Championship

They'll start him on Thursday without a doubt

Cissoko was a bit hit and miss last night but they were so wary of him that we likely wouldn't have scored if he wasn't playing

He dragged so many of theirs towards him that when he hit it across their penalty area for our goal, ACD had so much time and to take his shot

He's shit as well, was awful there few weeks ago at their place.

Don't care if he's had a good season, but if Sarcevic is your best player it tells you something.

Let them come onto us 2nd leg and the gaps will be there to exploit.

Also, they keep bigging up their own gaff, which is fair, but we went there 2 weeks ago when it was packed out, on the remembrance day too and like all the other games we've played them this season, we were the better side.

Their fans btw are incredibly quiet considering the numbers they bring, both home and away at their place I felt.

Our players are used to playing in front of bigger and louder crowds all season and I have no doubt our away fans will be up for it again.

We only need to match that result we got there 2 weeks ago and draw like we love doing.

Last week's actual was around 21K.

He was his usual hit and miss self first half, improved second half, tried hard to contribute when we lost the ball and stuck at it well till late on in a physical game. Once he'd worked out how to shift it on when he'd drawn them to him he made quite a bit happen
