Bradford Home - 1st Leg Saturday 9th May

Same process as before - you can secure your own seats.

Need to put yesterday’s disappointment behind us and fill the place.

Let’s take a good lead over to Bradford.

On the piss in the afternoon prior to an 8pm kick-off on a Saturday, should make it a belting atmosphere under the lights.

Johnston gets a lot of shit, he was great tonight and clearly really fired up for it. The right attitude for the next two games.

SS got his substitutions right tonight

We were good all night apart from the last 15 minutes- Bonham worries me

Why?

When did a goalkeeper not worry you? Genuinely ask yourself if you felt comfortable with Jussi? Great if you did- cos then we have a starting point

Sheehan mom. Get through the first 20 minutes on Thursday neet and the 1-0 tonight will feel even better.

If only that 2nd one had gone in, i'd feel more relaxed but i'd still rather be us than them.

We've played them 3 times this season & been better than them 3 times.......if we fuck this up. we'll only have ourselves to blame.

Tonight, all the back four were excellent, both wingers troubled them but i'll also go for Sheehan as MOTM, majestic !!

Yes, it definitely wasn't a Thierry Gale night.

Exactly the more you think about it the more it does not add up.........Kenny would have had to return to Celtic and be treated by Doctors there.......He would not be leaving Liverpool Airport but Glasgow if he was returning to Ireland

It would have been reported straight away in the press up there.

What! @L/H White he’s not returned to Celtic? 😂

We did miss Kenny today.

But we are good enough to find ways to cope without him.

Great win today. I wanted a 2 goal lead, but in the end I’m happy with the one goal lead.

This next bit will probably sound like  pissed up bias - but they were absolutely shit tonight. I’m really not sure how they get more than one goal to beat us in the 2nd leg.

That 2nd goes in off the post - tie over

Yes they're strong at home and 1-0 is an incredibly fragile lead.

But we have to be confident, that's the 4th game we've played them this season, not lost and been much the better side overall in every game.

Having also played them just 2 weeks ago at their place packed out. We only just gotta do what we love to do and that's get a draw.

Stay solid like we did today and let our quality shine and we will get through.

You're far more knowledgable about goalkeeping than I am but he had me worried too

A few spills and the way he failed to deal with that loose ball

Home crowd were superb tonight but what is it about Yorkshire sides? Barnsley,Huddersfield and Bradford all bring plenty but make less noise than a few hundred Mansfield or Lincoln fans.

Don't like to bash on other support especially when sold out. But their fans are really mediocre. They also barely made that much noise in November with 5k

And at their place too, they were virtually silent until they equalised in the 80th minute.

Our support is immense, big numbers but we're fucking up for it too. The 'crazy corner' showed their away fans what it's about.

It is going to be tough as hell still at their place but after it being the 5th game against these and having played their 2 weeks ago, we know what to expect.

Our players play in front of bigger crowds every week. Got nothing to fear. Get at them.

We score first on Thursday and they are done.

Seamus , Felgate , Brannigan, Jussi , Trafford , Dibble , These are the keepers I was more than comfortable with .

Rose, Davison , Ward , Clarke . Gilkes , Solid no real worries but always a chance of a balls up

Farnworth , Alnwick & the other one bang average .
Amos , Bogdan , Baxter , Shilton , Southwood , Salmon scared the crap out of me  .

Just back my thoughts…

Lots of possession but 1 SOT shows we did not do a lot with it.

Lots of solid performances all over the pitch.

Ethan improved after his first three passes went a stray. First half every Bradford chance seemed to come from sloppy defending.

ACD great finish but how important might hitting that post be ?

Cissoko frustrating at times but they had 2 men on him all the time which blunted any potential attacks down our left.

Terrible news about Kenny, any reason given why Dempsey was not on bench ?

Bradford have to be better 2nd leg and show more attacking intent, think Pointon might be back and their late is recovering from injury but would them going forward if he starts. Got to go there with no fear, do not think SS is a manager that goes places to just hold so going to be a really nervous evening next week.

Superb fighting performance, everyone was right up for it. We are clearly a much more mentally and physically tough team than the one that has entered the playoffs on the last two recent occasions. Didn't feel massively confident we could get a goal before it happened and was brilliant when it seemed to come a bit out of the blue.

We seemed to to drop a gear for the last 10-15 almost like we were content with the 1-0, understand that but it did feel like they were there for the taking a bit.

The back 4 in particular were fantastic, they have to be with the way Bonham is looking lately.

Their fans were proper shit.

I think it having EE and Simons back playing a part might prove to be a big thing

Neither are match fit but that can be managed by brining one off for the other

Thought you might be a bit disappointed we didn’t lose 🤣

It was quite a shout, that

Without Kenny and a fully firing Dalby we lost good 2 forward ball options - and somehow Burstow didn’t really step up, so we were back to the way we were playing pre-Xmas. But we coped ok, were defensively sound with GJ at the back for the most part and ACD stepped up to make a difference.

Thursday will be a different challenge but we’ll need everyone to be on it.

Oh and by the way that crowd is absolute bull shit. We’ve gone back to the Burnden days of fiddling the crowd for tax returns.

Only now it’s so we don’t have to declare to the EFL how much we’ve received from tickets sold.

And the twisted irony in all of this, is that we’ve gone through the last 4 years of over inflating crowds, declaring kids tickets as bums on seats.

It was as rammed as I’ve ever known it in ESL north side.

There was more in today at “22,700” than there was last week at over “25,000”

You just don’t get a real reflection of attendance anymore.

Any news on why Dempsey was not in squad ?

Haha. It was a shit post and I own that. Of course I wanted us to win.

Think I was trying to explain that Id be more nervous defending a lead instead of being behind with nothing to lose and I might have said I'd feel better which was a poor way to phrase it.

I wouldn't have had him ahead of anyone who was on the bench
