  • Can't agree there pal. I know a few Wolves lads. Anyone over the age of 40 have us up there with West Brom as most hated team. We inflicted a lot of damage to them. From them getting twatted all over

They’ll be licking their lips at the thought of playing us…. They don’t like us to this day… bloody lovely, bring it on!

  • Reminds me of a podcast I was listening to a year or two ago, had a Wolves fan on it saying Bolton Wanderers ruined the 90s for us. Get in 😂

Wolves not messing about. Top quality experience in Trippier and Raul Jimenez. Eye wateringly high wages and zero resale value, but they’re banking on going straight back up and they’ll certainly help.

Jimenez has a poor goal return since his head injury, but in the championship you’d expect him to rattle in 15-20 with the service he’ll be getting. Be interesting to see who their new manager is

Can’t wait to play them… gonna be feisty!

I couldn't give a shit about Wolves. Just a big club from the Midlands. That was a 1990s thing. I hope Super John stays out of their faces that day because it's all a bit small-time harping on about events 30 years ago.

3 part in depth podcast called "It's Was Just A Wee Push" coming your way in the lead up to the first fixture.

I don't mean this in any disrespectful sense but I'm surprised you've posted this because it feels like quite a lot of your posts are pretty much exactly that

In the sense of reminiscing with fellow fans of a certain vintage. Not in the sense of trying to stoke up what was only ever a passing rivalry.

Not sure it was a passing rivalry. Following each other up in the late 1970s and then all the way down in the 1980s, were some feisty encounters then. Remember my dad saying there was a bit of a rivalry late 1950s too.

Aye

Since then we've both gone our different ways in different directions as well

Know a Wolves fan and as much as he hated McGinlay that night, he couldn't give a fuck about us now

They have West Brom, Birmingham and Stoke to worry about next season

Some of our fans singing 'Supa John McGinlay' won't even register

I am friendly with a family of Wolves fans, Dad and two lads. Couldn't give a monkey's about us other than chatting about our progress when they see me. It's all confected nonsense at our end by a certain generation of BWFC fan. The most you'll get is them knowing that Bolton has not been a happy hunting ground for them other than the 0-4 last time we played them at home. Just another game.

(I do appreciate what folk are saying about the 1970s but let's face it that was 76/7, and that had no impact on subsequent games v them in the old Div 1 later in the decade).

No way. I’ve respectfully let them be as we’ve been divisions apart. It’s now back and I really don’t like them. Looking forward to it and everything super that comes with it.

I would agree that there is no rivalry however, meet one of em and the mere mention of sjm and they are frothing at the mouth. Strange bunch

That counts as rivalry in my eyes.

to be fair theres only you, and understandably Gonzo, who give a shite about playing Blackpool, who aren't a rival

Rivalries come and go- if we avoid Wigan for a generation then newbies will wonder what the fuss is about.

They're created at a time when teams play each other quite a but.

Local (Derby) teams are different of course- which has enhanced the Wigan situation of course, but they will cease to be considered such if we avoid them for a while.

We will never play them again. And that’ll be soon enough.

We’re going to end up drawing them in the first round of the League Cup

Was speaking to a older Wolves fan on a cruise ive just been on. He asked who i supported, when i told him, his first words " That cunt Mcginlay". They certainly do hate us!

You should have then given him a “wee push” overboard

They hate McGinlay no doubt but that's not hating us

I hate Robbie Savage when he got two players sent off when playing for Leicester

Do I hate Leicester?

No, couldn't care less

We may have stopped them from promotion but I doubt most of their fans care

If any of our fans think singing Supa John McGinlay will wind them up them up, it'll just make us look small time

There was a fair bit of needle the last time we played them a few years ago iirc

I have a vague recollection of one of theirs balloooning from the hospitality section

Don't forget they got a tad upset when lofty flexed his muscles in front of them.

Pies on the pitch iirc.

Will Aimson gone to Salford fc. Decent player, should be playing above that level.
