Proper striker.£1.2M is a lot of money for someone who hadn't scored above League Two level. We got Dalby in on a free anyway who had the same impact. Edited July 17Jul 17 by jmjhb

July 18Jul 18 Looks like we’re losing Tolaj to Brizzle City for 4.5M plus add ons.Shame but can’t really argue with that money. Hopefully we can keep hold of Pepple.

So clubs trying to buy their success ... Bristol City & Stoke come to mind ... have a very narrow window to achieve it.Should they fail they could find life very tough in future seasons.
July 18Jul 18 I see Chelsea are breaking the bank for Rogers on another long term deal. Never known a club sign so many players as they’ve done over the last 2-3 years. Their fans mustn’t have a clue who half their squad is at any moment in time. Bonkers.

Even I had noticed him and I tend to know nothing about other teams' players. He looked quite big, brown hair in a pony tail and a little moustache, if you need to recognise him at your door.

July 21Jul 21 Author Tolaj looks half decent in L1, like Kenny and Dalby, no better than them for me although obviously more of a natural scorer than Dalby. Whether any of the 3 can step upto the championship is another matter, I can't say I'd be buzzing for Tolaj especially at that inflated price. If he wasn't Plymouth's pen taker he'd have 14 goals last season, less than the likes of Wareham (in a relegated team) and Wooton (who doesn't take pens) and 1 less than Pepple. On the subject of pens, Luton got 12 last season! Plymouth 8 and Stockport 7 the next most. We got 2, both were 2nd half winners. When Nakki Wells had his pen saved by Bonham it was his 3rd miss of the season.

Rather Bristol than us spending that much thank you.McGoldrick scored 2 more and creates them too. Marriott 3 more from 9 less games.I'm sure Tolaj is good, but so are a few other L1 strikers too and they aren't costing millions.
July 21Jul 21 If you're only looking at goals, Kevin Davies wasn't very good. Tolaj is a physical presence a good foil for the equally impressive Pepple. You can send the ball up and he'll fight for it and bring wingers into play. He's a good player.

We've had a couple here that do more than that - Collins and Kenny with their pace and skill, Dalby with his outstanding physicality. McGoldrick the best I've seen in L1 for linking play while also being top scorer. It will be interesting to see how Tolaj gets on at Bristol.
