King Bill, Nat & lifeline

Anyone else on here present the night Nat rocked up at the King Bill when he made the speech about the clubs financial woes? Anyhow joined it from day 1 and still paying my dues, luckily I’ve won the draw once in all those years… anybody have memories of that night they’d like to share?

Wasn’t there but did join Lifeline. Won it once (£2k) and £50.

No idea how many members it has, but it has helped the club immensely over the years.

Me and my brother joined at the same time, Alf Davies lived near us and Teddy Rothwell so we couldn't not join. Our kid has won a car and i've won £50

I won 2k in April which sorted Wembley. Forgot to email Alison, should really do so

Been in it since it started nd got my firtst winnings last month - £25 - think they have done well out of me

I remember a bloke winning a house, he lived near us as well, i think he was a part time Peeler iirc???

Used to go in the King Bill but never remembered Nat coming in, however if it was the same game that he did the speech on the pitch at half time ? Then im sure we were playing Charlton Athletic that day, we came from behind to win 2-1 i think, dark days them .

Remember Steve Whittleston (LA Whites) winning a holiday to Disneyland with Lifeline whilst living in LA.. they sorted a cash alternative for him...

only joined BOTH Last year

Ste Haigh sorted me had £25

He did two on pitch appeals that December. Charlton at home. We won 4-1 & former European footballer of the year, Alan Simonssen, scored for them. The other was a 1-0 home win over Carlisle.

Great to hear he was at the Stockport game fellas a BWFC fan legend…never forget him with his 70s BWFC shirt way before everyone wore them and the horn he used to blow at games.

You’ve got me doubting myself now. I don’t think it was a match day either.

Most likely Frank Worthingtons shirt, he loaned it to the club and it's hung up somewhere ...

Yep, we were.

They were giving a bit of the big un, and he slapped them down with the phrase "they don't know" when he was talking about our club, its history, and his live for it, and us.

Got a roar of approval did the comment, and it's one of those moments that sticks in the memory for ever.

What a man he was.

I’ve not heard anything of him for years. He was a mate of my brothers back in the day. My abiding memory of him is stood on the dugout at Burnden waving Big Franks shirt over his head.

He's posting on Facebook a lot (his profile is open) and he seems well. Judging from his posts he may be LeverEnderinMexico now.
