I'd rather read the Football Ventures thread

  • you're trying to hard now, stop embarrassing yourself cobba

  • 3rd place is still 3rd place like but he's gone one better than Southgate (and Robson) yet still not won anything he now needs to go one better in the Euros

Lucky to not be losing

Oof, could be 2 embarrassments in 4 days.

And this mon is supposedly the second best ever. Talk about a low bar.

It’s been a great game.

I'm still pissed off about Wednesday. One of the biggest missed chances of all time.

4-2 now, haha. Must be Dan Burn time.

Ok 😁

Between Jed Spence or Saka (obviously) for MOTM

Rice. You bell

What a goal.

Ridiculous game

Well, he's bettered Southgate's World Cup record in his first go

Fun game lol

After what we heard at half time, you can’t be anything but really happy for the players after that.

It’s a small consolation, but one which can put a few smiles back on their faces.

Glad I stayed up to watch that, brilliant game.

If anything that game proves we're better just attacking than that defending nonsense.

A very silly game of football!

Third - bloody brilliant

What a game. Credit to both teams 👏👏👏

a class game, won't see the like for some time

Bellingham really is Zidane levels.

What a talent.

It was more like Soccer Aid than the World Cup.

We could have bought Andi Peters, Paddy McGuiness and that bloke from Kasabian on.

This is the first rate competition. The pinnacle.

The second rate one you reference is of far less import.

Big Sam statistically the best England manager of all time of course.

Let's just agree on that one.

In your opinion, but we both know you're blinded by Southgate's political views and refuse to give him any credit for his tenure for some reason.

I didn't know.

Can't argue with any of that.

Better than Gazza ever was

Just caught the scoreline and subs. Why didn't we bring on multiple defenders to see the game out once we were ahead?! Leaving those attackers on and continuing to pose a threat to France, that'll never catch on.

It was the perfect response after what happened Wednesday.

I talked of a lose lose situation before the game, but I hadn’t considered an outcome like that - One where the players, detached from the reality of an incomparable game, put on a real show of courage, passion and quality, in circumstances that were strange and offset from the real tournament.

And they did that on the back of the broken hearts that Anthony Barry referenced at HT.

Rightly or wrongly the management will take some credit for creating a team-spirit that has stood out these last seven weeks.

Using AB’s words - “The team spirit over the last seven weeks has been a privilege to watch”

I’m not sure many will be as quick to move on as I’m suggesting. But the chances are now TT will stay on. We need to take the positives of what’s happened this World Cup and hope that we can learn from the mistakes.
