A top bloke and "real character", a sad loss to his family, friends and BWFC.

RIP :(

R.I.P Dave I remember he used to go drinking in the sunnyside pub on adelaide st in Daubhill many moons ago and i'll never forget the liverpool cup game at burnden(2-2 draw) when the scousers equalised he said "the the scailly ba....... the lucky lot" just how he would've loved to say you lucky bastards. R.I.P sad loss

A true gentleman.

Wonder if RV could get a montage together for half time at the next home match??

Despite not really knowing Dave personally I was genuinely upset when I heard the news today. Like a lot of people, I've met him, & been is his company many times & I think this really is a sad loss to Bolton & BWFC.

Still got a great collection or Roadrunner videos - too many brilliant quotes to mention.

If the club don't do something - & I don't just mean digging the black armbands out - it's a disgrace. A montage at half time would be a great idea.

RIP Dave.

RIP Dave

Another sad loss as we lose another true Wanderer.

Hope the club show some respect to the man they dumped so calously.

sat three seats away from dave at newcastle. he was cheering the

lads on &slagging the ref off like everyone else. he was a true gent

& a true fan .he would talk all day and night about the wanderers

my thoughts are with his family & friends .we will miss you

ding dong do

Oo ah David Lee

Ah say we've got David Lee - Liverpool

"What a glorious Saturday afternoon it was, it will go down in the history books OCTOBER 20,2001, when we see off Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford, thanks to Kevin Nolan and Mickael Ricketts, now what a ding-dong-do that was. Bolton fans were singing, " Can we play you every week!", it was like music to my ears."

R.I.P. Dave

r.i.p dave,a sad day for bolton wanderers and fans alike.

He was the only commentator ever able to interview Spazzy Darren and not take the piss or sound patronising

I remember, mid to late 80's, not exactly sure, we were playing away and me and a few of the lads were so desperate to get to the game, the only option we had was to go with the travel club. (think I/we were still at school)

As we arrived late, the only seats left were at the front.

'No problem' we thinks

'Least we don't have to sit with the families'

In front of me where 2 empty seats. (just behind the driver)

'Who's gonna sit there ?' me thinks.

Well, who should then stroll on the coach ?

Yep, *Scout Dave Higson & Handicapped Darren.

'No f***ing way!' I thinks to myself. (I was in my yoof remember)

'I can't have them 2 in front of me all the way there and back'

Oh how I regretted thinking that after we arrived home 2 days later from the match.

Call me a tight git but I don't think I have laughed as much nor had a face full of spit as much since! (anyone who has spoke to Darren will know what I mean)

And as smiley points out, he never once gave the impression that he was taking the p1ss out of Darren, as everybody but anybody did.

This is probably a true testament of how great a man *Scout Dave really was.

Couldn't do enough that day for Darren that fella.

A true Gent.

RIP DAVE 'THE SCOUT' HIGSON

*Scout/Skip Dave was how he was known to me back then (I wasn't in the scouts like) and I can still hear him now 'Ar ur goin sat'day lads ?'

I once showed my dad one of the roadrunner vids a few years back, and he was howling with laughter at the commentrary. he didnt like football too much but loved listening to dave as it brightened up what he thought was a tarts game. he'd often ask if I had any more vids with 'that ding dong do' fella, reckoned he should have been on match of the day, as we all did.

I didnt know him, I met him many times on our travels and he always had a friendly word, usually followed with 'behave yourselves lads!!' or some3thing similar.

a true legend and a true gent, held in greater esteem in my eyes than nat lofthouse, simply because of his unconditional love of the club despite getting next to nowt back from them. next time sam has a whining prima donna at his door, he wants to sit him down and tell him about the likes of dave higson.

RIP

Remember the commentary from the 'White Hot' Liverpool game in the cup when Dave rightly wanted to acknowledge the job the Manager was doing at the time.

"What about Rioch Tony? . . . Oooo Eeee Brucie Rioch . . . Oooo Eeee Brucie Rioch"

Most loyal fan in Boltons recent history! Rest in Peace Dave, you will be sadly missed.

maybe RV could play "the wanderer" for him at the arsenal game.

if there was ever a "wanderer", it was dave higson.

Sad news. Along with kill cricket and Burnden in general Dave is one of my best memories from Bolton days. The police are acting like pigs so to speak, shining like a...well, a light, and a mate's Dad played at Burnden once on a works do type thing and all took away a video of the game with Dave commentating on 'the big number 6 McCarthy, bit of a fat lad but a good head on him all the same.'

Thoughts with and best wishes to his family and friends.

R.I.P. Dave a true legend! never will be a better comentator anywhere ever!!!

I went travelling in 91 to New Zealand to see relatives and ended up leaving my Roadrunner videos with them, they enjoyed his commentary so much.

Mark Winstanly a 35 yard rocket in the Sherpa Van.

Winny Winny Winny Winnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnie.

A True Ledgend.

RIP Higgy

A ragging legend, a true white!!

RIP Dave

Spoke to him a couple of games ago when he was sat in his usual seat, cant believe he is gone.

RIP Dave a true Gentleman and Wanderer !

Sad news - one of the games', Bolton's and life's true gents. Irreplaceable.

Sad sad news.

Rest In Peace Dave.

"What a man, what a hero...what a ding dong do"

RIP Dave

"A foul outside the area, Mr Tyson got it wrong, a foul outside the area, cheat, cheat, cheat" Blackpool '89

True gent and legend.

Was on the travel club some time back, he sold me a scratch card that I won a pound on. He took the card off me and said he would get me another one but I never saw him again due to everyone on the coach wanting to have a conversation with him as he made his way back to his seat at the front.

Also remeber coming out of Ellend Road after a nil nil draw a few years ago and he was shouting Champions League here we come!

Ding Dong Do RIP

very sad.they don`t make fans like that fellah anymore.

only ever briefly spoke to him but still feel very sad. his enthusiasm was infectuous.

nice chant of `only one dave higson` at the next home match needed

RIP

RIP DAVE.

ONE TRUE LEGEND OF THE WANDERERS!!
