We only play long ball

From the BBC website.....

"Bolton claimed third place in the Premiership table after outmuscling and outplaying Tottenham Hotspur."

"Before Spurs' late onslaught Bolton subjected the visitors to an aerial offensive from a series of set pieces."

"Having softened up Spurs, Bolton took the lead through Nolan's wonderful goal."

"Following a huge punt upfield from Jaaskelainen."

We're just a set up pub brawlers and nightclub doormen!

SKY went on about how we closed them down so quickly.Did he say a 'sea of white shirts' every time they got hold of the ball.Said they had difficulty retaining the ball, let alone passing it. =D>

Actually thought that was the poorest performance out of the glut of games we've played recently. We rode our luck a bit and got a result against a pretty good Spurs side.

Another good game for Gardner tonight.

He let 3 consecutive players go past him in 5 mins!

We still closed them down as quick as we ever have :D =D>

Said at h-t that Davids would be ineffective in the 2nd half - think I was pretty much right. He controlled the midfield at times during the 1st, but was whacked after that run down the flank. Jenas and Carrick did nothing to make me think they deserved to be ahead of Nolan in the England team..... oh, apart from they play for Spurs. Silly me, that's the first criteria for getting an England call-up.

I would not have been surprised if Spurs had dicked us tonight - so regardless of possession, corners, shots on goal, etc, etc - it was a very, very good 3 points.

Didn't think there was much of an atmosphere tonight though.

We frustrated the fook out of them, watching them cluelessly hoofing it was quality =D>

faye was good again. nolan is not england class yet. o'brien is better at lb than hunt.

getting ready for the london press to slagg us off again tomorrow

Fish all you want about Hunt at LB

I work with several Spuds :D :D :D :D

Was in two minds about where to work tomorrow, it's a no-brainer now :D

it's a no-brainer now

a no brainer

You need a spot of blue-sky thinking, my dear.

Controlled the midfield my arse, he was shit. What a waste of money

Borgetti looked a bit lost today, quitea few plays he didn't really readat all. Thought at times we passed the ball ( along the floor be jesus ) quite well.. the yids were just as guilty of 'loofing it upfield'. They were not a bad side actually and gave me a few arse puckering moments.

Cheers for the tickets btw Brixton.. will bang them round to you tommorow:)

do you think so

maybe he did most of his best work near us

i thought he was excellent

Couldn't make it out from the tele coverage........was it.........yids singing "you only play long ball" or some sarcy bowton lot singin "we only play long ball"? If the latter i doff my cap, =D>

My view on Davids is that he is all 'top show' and no substance. He plays to the crowd strutting about and giving the impression that he is a 100%er but he loses possession too often and with one exception tonight every pass he made was just a short ball to someone unmarked.

You expect a lot more for ??25,000 a week.

Same here, east stand lower was buzzing.

And as for Edgar Davids, he was lively first half, never in it the second.

I went with a Spurs fan from work who was very impressed by Bolton`s play and rightly so said that we deserved all three points =D>

I know you cant judge by television noise, but it sounded like a lively atmosphere. Like the crowd got behind the team =D> =D> =D>

Long balls eh! Robinson launched the ball from pass backs all the game! Some of his kicks where so high that the ball had snow on it!

We played some superb passing football in the first half!

What happened with the Stelios and King incident??

according to a spuds fan on rivals stelios had hold of kings legs and king stumbled backwards! no seen it me self!

what happened with dioufy and dawson in front of th'east stand?

never a truer word spoken (on all accounts) mr horwich...

Phil Brown and Gudni were spot on when talking about it last night, saying how United and Chelsea played long ball and nothing is said about it!

Its all balls, some good football was played last night by both teams, only difference is, Spurs are obsessed with playing the "Spurs" way and can pass too much without actually going anywere!

It was an accident from King, he was just getting up, and wasnt even looking at Stelios, so had no idea what he was doing. Just unfortunate!
