Guest as Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Loads of Bolton fans out, most of em teenagers and younger, though? At least we'll have some fans in years to come. I'm still laughing at Wigan, first ever season in the top flight & they manage a shocking 11k against a well-supported Geordie side. PB Coz you ride on time

Sweep Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I'm still laughing at Wigan, first ever season in the top flight & they manage a shocking 11k against a well-supported Geordie side. Apparently Newcastle had over 5000 fans there, so Wigan were nearly out numbered at home - now that is bad. Can anybody remember a time when we were outnumbered at home...............surely one for Biff this (although maybe it has never happened)
Casino Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 in a league game? sheff utd rings some bells mid 80s poss easter monday, and we beat em, 3-1 i think they didn't take it well
Guest Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 What about Stoke in a league game I think in neals last season? They were going for Promotion we were mid-table, and the whites decided to make it all ticket, but not actually tell anyone! Think we won 3-1 Could be wrong but I seem to remember them having thousands that day (Embankment and part of Paddock and due to the ticket communication that day, we had loads locked out. I ended up in Manny road standing for the only time having paid a turnstile operator a few quid to keep his foot pressed down on his lever and let me in with someone else :-$

george Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I have the video of the Stoke game in 91/92. They sold their full allocation of 6,000 tickets. The gate on the day was 10,000 exactly. Dave was very pleased that we cost them promotion because 12 months previously we'd won at Swansea and he blamed Stoke for costing us promotion because they lost to Grimsby on the same day.
