worthy10 Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 it's all well and good saying lee should go, and in my opinion he should. but who would take on the challenge. there aren't many available or suitable???
no balls Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 (edited) The only managers out of work during the season are out of work for a damn good reason. 1.They're Shite 2.Not interested 3.Still tied into their last club edit: I'm sure there's a plethora of other reasons, these were the main ones. Eddie Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Sir John McGinlay If not then I suppose I would accept Capello, or Mourinho. Being serious I could see Jewel doing a fairly decent job, but it doesn't show any ambition, if we want to stay as a top 8 club then for me we need to look abroad, and not for the usual easy (cheap) option.
glossopWANDERER Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 a few cheap options for me could be colin colderwood, simon grayson and a very big long shot from abroad palermo manager Francesco Guidolin probably wouldnt come cheap tho
no balls Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Roy McFarland. Only if Colin comes with him!
Henrik's Fan Club Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Jewell Although... we did spend nowt over summer of the TV money...maybe we could afford Mourinho! [/blind optimism]
carrick loyalist Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 someone who's doing a good job is "John Collins" Hibs..
Alf Hartigan Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 pointless thread because Lee won't get sacked :p
george Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 I think any experienced boss would have got more than 5 points from the 8 games Lee has had with this squad,so anyone would be an improvement. Assuming the board won't pay the money for a top class manager,i'd offer the job first to Adrian Boothroyd and then to Jewell. Boothroyd would be classed as a gamble (Reid,Jewell or Souness would be more experienced, safer choices) but not a drunken punt on a long shot like appointing Lee was. Boothroyd has similar qualities to Allardyce in that he has overachieved with a fairly small club playing the long ball game. With better players i think he has the potential/personality to succeed at Bolton.
glasgowwhite Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 It's all too much to take. How did we come to this? 12 months ago all these suggestions would be laughed at, where do we go from here?
Exiled Girl Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 where do we go from here? Down to the lake I fear
siz Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Down to the lake I fear iy aya ya ya ya ya yay!

Been saying it since BSA left - Boothroyd is the best candidate out there - unless Mourinho fancies a bigger challenge...

I'm with you, George. Makes a change from all the 'give LSL a chance', give LSL till Christmas', 'stop criticising your own club', 'go and support another club' right-on brigade. I've seen the Wanderers go into this kind of tail-spin too many times in the last 55 years not to recognise the symptoms. Sure, LSL may come good ..... but we have no evidence he can do so, and it's a longer shot than replacing him with an experienced manager. Edited September 29, 2007 by Rembrandt
ROSSENDALEWHITE Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 We are big enough to attract better managers than Jewell and Bothroyd. Mark Hughes or Carlos Queiroz please.

Mounts Kipper Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 someone who's doing a good job is "John Collins" Hibs.. John Collins will be a top manager, he would shake the team up from there current malaise.
trotter58 Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 (edited) Saw this thread last night and thought i must be having a bad dream. Bothroyd? Queiroz? Colin f**king Calderwood?! All we need is Fathead to chip with Neil Warnock and the list will be complete! Edited September 30, 2007 by trotter58
