But I thought he had a huge ego from day 1 there and was up against Drogba - so quite difficult for him to break through into a regular starting XI for them.

Comes with a lot less baggage and price tag than Anelka did a couple of years back, has experience in the Prem so would be an excellent signing.

From what I remember he did tend to miss a few chances though that maybe he should have been putting away
