Would love to see it too! I remember a couple of months ago him stating he'd love to cum back some time in his career. It's jus if we agree the fee... and no 'bigger' team wants him!

He's not good enough

Where's Bob Taylor these days, would he not come back on load til the end of the season?

He's apparently earning 100k a week at Barca, but with Anelka and Willhelmson off the wage bill - we could afford to pay him.

I do wonder how many games he's played and how many goals he's scored over the last couple of seasons though. <_<

Winston Bogarde and Torben Piechnik could both do jobs for us

or Marco Boogers electric boogaloo

Or former Southampton star Ali Dia (George Weah?s cousin) and ex PSG

Not forgetting Speed of the wage bill, that has to free ?100,000, maybe the potential signing of Eider on loan is the reason wilhelmson was allowed to leave, it would make sense as we need some one who can play up the middle rather than a wide man, if this happens I will salute BWFC.

P.S.Would not be suprised if Gudni has something to do with it, if it happens.

Gudni sat around seeing his beloved wanderers in the shit decides to sort it out and calls upon team iceland to help him!

Like everyone else I would love to see this happen but its got to be a long shot. If it did though, it would add a couple of thousand onto the gates for the remaining games of the season which would contribute to his wages

Alan Brazil just mentioned on Talk sport that he has heard a whisper Gudjohnsen on his way to Bolton, I am praying this one is going to happen.

Good call. I'd be happy just to see him play against Reading though !!!!

GUDJOHNSEN CAME ON AS SUB LAST NIGHT FOR BARCA AND 1. LOOKED NOT IN THE LEAST BIT INTERESTED AND 2. WAS WAY OFF THE PACE .

watched him last week , he played in a central midfield position

although it'd be great to have him back, he's not the out and out striker we want/need

If anything it would help lift some of the apathy that's been hanging over the club at present - especially with the stay-aways.

Bring the bugger back.

Not take him long to become our top scorer though.

Bolton manager Gary Megson has admitted that he would be keen to bring Eidur Gudjohnsen back to the club, but is taking a pragmatic approach to assessing his chances of actually signing the Barcelona striker.

The 29-year-old left The Reebok Stadium for Chelsea in 2000 and Bolton?s need for a goalscorer has been heightened by the exit of Nicolas Anelka for The Blues, combined with El-Hadji Diouf?s absence due to the African Cup of Nations.

Now Megson has confirmed that Gudjohnsen is ?the type of player? he is looking to sign after appearing to have already strengthened his defensive options by agreeing a fee with Aston Villa for Gary Cahill.

?They?re the type of players we want to bring to Bolton to take the club forward,? said Megson when quizzed on speculation about the Iceland international. ?It remains to be seen if we can do it but it?s not for the want of trying.

?We?ve been looking at it ever since it became obvious that Nic was going to go to Chelsea, and even before that.

?But there are very few centre-forwards around that you?d like to bring in and who you know could come in and do a job.?

Fans of The Trotters have made it clear they would welcome a return to Lancashire of Gudjohnsen, and Megson is of the same opinion.

?I?d fully endorse what the locals think,? he said. ?Whether we can manage to get a player from Barcelona remains to be seen. They?re the kind of players we?re trying to get into the place.

?But just because of the fact he is at Barcelona he is the player that he is means it?s not as easy as you would think.?

The leave of Diouf is something that Megson has felt hard, and he is counting down the days until the Senegal striker returns from Ghana.

"I've been following the competition and we want Dioufy back,? said Megson.

"There are a lot of strange decisions made in football and we are paying wages for one of our players to be playing in a competition on the other side of the world and it just seems crazy to me.

"I don't particularly want Senegal to get knocked out for Dioufy's sake because he is a proud Senegalese person and he wants to do well and he will be mortified if they do get knocked out. But from our point of view we will have a jet on the runway ready to bring him back.

"It will swoop in like one of the Red Arrows. Our owner Eddie Davies has got his own plane and has put it at our disposal and as soon as Senegal are knocked out, it will swoop onto the pitch and we will sling Dioufy in the back and get him back over here."

I love some of the stuff Megson comes out with

Tyls I saw the thread title, saw your name as last posted, put 2 + 2 together and nearly creamed myself. I take it you have not heard anything oh knowledgable one?

i dont know which worries me more, the red arrows, or ?I?d fully endorse what the locals think,? he said.

i hope he can be a little more selective, especially concerning the 'megson out' brigade
