10 goals in 16 apps this season, not bad for a reserve

add that to the 21 goals last season, albeit at championship level.

no i havent seen him play this season, but i have seen him probably 5 or 6 times over the last 3 years.

he is not a just big target man, he is actually quite a technical player. very much like viduka.

yes i know people are pissed that anelka left, so am i, but that is not rasiaks fault.

yes i too wanted to sign somebody better than a championship player but we are not an attractive proposition to most 8m strikers.

im under no illusion that he is gonna score 10 goals in the remaining 15 games or so, and i doubt megson is either, i really dont think he woke this morning and thought "gregorz rasiak, he be our anelka replacement!"

fact is most people shout and moan about something when they do not a have a clue about how and why it came about.

but give a lad a chance for fucks sake!

all we can do is trust megson to do what he is better than you or me about, and pick and choose which AVAILABLE players will keep us in this league.

The lad will get his chance from me...although he won't get long

it is the level of signing that is frustrating...

I would imagine we will only see him coming on from the bench...

but the one thing that is glaringly obvious in our team is the lack of pace going forward and creativity...

both of which have not been addressed.

Fair enough bolty but are you not dissapointed at the signing of a who is rated behind Stern John and Bradley Wright-Phillips by his own club?

fcuk me.

EVERY player we have ever bought have been "surplus to requirements".

OTHERWISE they would not be sold.

Whoops!!Thought I'd logged onto a Barcodes site then by mistake with all the wingeing and moaning going on,"Lets sack everybody",etc etc.....

Megson, who had already added Aston Villa defender Gary Cahill to the playing staff at the Reebok Stadium, insisted there was no element of desperation in his transfer window recruitment policy.

"They are not panic measures. They are players we have scouted and had watched," he said.

Bullshit!

Not true, if you offer the right money most teams will sell their prize assets. It all depends on how much you want someone.

I've seen him play and.....................he's shite

So, you're 13 and have seen him play how many games? 1 or 2 at best. Come back when you're 14 son.

Not disappointed yet - no. Prepared to give the lad a chance. As we all know, your face don't fit with a particular coach and you don't get picked. Prepared to give the Razor a chance before consigning him to the (s)crap bin.

Although basically correct this is only the first hurdle.

1. Agree fee

2. Speak to player

If he does not want to move, what next?

Offer more money.

Offer even more money.

Where do you stop?

Til he agrees?

If we hadn't have sold Anelka I doubt you'd have seen him "sulk".

He'd just managed to turn his reputation around and if he'd acted like that he knows his dreams of going to a major club in the Summer would have been shattered - the guy's 28, this was his last chance to get back up there.

I therefore don't think we "had" to sell him.

Therefore if we did, we should've had a replacement ready - Megson even stated we had a contingency - either he lied or something went wrong as Raziak isn't it.

Raziak isn't inspiring, but I'll give the bloke a chance and be behind them all at the Madjeski on Saturday.

He's a white now like it or lump it yes he gets a chance. Unfortunately his reputation preceeds him. Check out what Derby, Southampton and Spurs fans think of him, it makes dissapointing reading

really?

so you don't think he wanted steinsson, cahill or Taylor?

beacause thats who he was talking about in the article that quote was first taken from!

hang on the article it was taken from was about Raziak.... I admit his quote may have been misused but there nothing about this Raziak signing which doesn't smack of panic... then again i may have had too many duvals... oh fcuk it.. :)

Certainly don't think Steinesson was, but in the main we only sign players that the clubs with more pulling power don't want.

Such is the natural order of the league

Correct me if I am wrong but, didn't Anelka have a clause in his contract that said if an ECL qualified team came in for him, he had the right to choose to go? If so, I'd be fairly sure it was the player himself who said yes to the move and the club did the best thing possible in getting the highest price they could.

I believe it was removed when he signed the new contract

We "had" to sell him because we promised him a move to a champions league club if one came in for him.

One came in for him, and eventually offered a fantastic amount of money to buy him.

He has got his move to a major club.

If you think he would have knuckled down and played his heart out for the rest of the season then I think you are mistaken.

How does a club in the bottom 6 organise a ready replacement for Anelka?
