Campos_Wig Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Four league defeats in a row. We couldn't have picked a worse time to record a run like that. I dread to think what the score will be at Old Trafford. Maybe we'll put out the reserves again. Well its obvious we aint goin to win and It'll give the lads a nice little break before the City game
snackum Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 The issue was, is, has been we had three months to find a replacement (we were told that they new two months before the transfer window), and the two most important men at the club...the manager and chairman could not get us one, and this is the reason we will go down.....cheers lads I disagree. We had the whole of last summer to sign one, Aug - Dec to locate and tap one up, Jan to do the paper work !!!!
trotter58 Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 The issue was, is, has been we had three months to find a replacement No the issue is that we shouldn't have sold him until we'd signed a replacement. Redknapp wouldn't let Benjani leave until he'd signed Defoe.
morphus77 Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 And to top it off Anelka will score the goal that sends us down.
Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 (edited) Who would have him back right now? If only the board would have backed him with the millions handed to the red headed one, in Jan last year Edited March 16, 2008 by Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion
Carlos Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 And to top it off Anelka will score the goal that sends us down. We'll already be down by then.
trotter58 Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Thank God for Newcastle! It's only that team that keeps us from being the laughing stock of the league.
Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 "We've never been a free scoring team...." This was the start of his justification for not playing attacking football and scoring goals that he spouted a couple of weeks ago. Actually Gary; it's your job to ensure that as a team we pose a goal threat and score some goals. This is fundamental to winning football matches. This is fundamental to staying in the league. Fulham, Birmingham, Wigan, Reading and Boro are now all posing some sort of threat and will score often enough to win the odd game. Cannot see us winning another game unless something truly amazing happens....

We've rested players midweek for this game and clearly it hasn't worked because we didn't turn up or start well. We looked lethargic and leggy and weren't good enough and we are right in the cart. I've seen a replay of the Michael Brown incident and it did look like a handball but I think when you are down the bottom you tend to focus on these decisions a bit more.'
Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Resting your best players has not and will never work for a club the size as bwfc, if we had beat sheff utd and been sat in the fa cup semi, and or the uefa qf i would bet my precious bollocks that we would have been at least 7 points better off. for christs sake even the murderers cannot get rotation / resting right!
xxxxxx Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 At least he's not using Sammy Lee's "there was a lot of positives from the game" speeches.
Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Sir Awex left a few minutes before the end. Must have been pishing himself. HE will be resting a few prior to far more difficult challenges ahead
Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 At least he's not using Sammy Lee's "there was a lot of positives from the game" speeches. Because there aren't any Under Lee we had Anelka and therefore always one positive
xxxxxx Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Sir Awex left a few minutes before the end.Must have been pishing himself. HE will be resting a few prior to far more difficult challenges ahead He can rest more than a few. Heck, he can put his reserve side out; they'd still win the match.

It doesn't take a genius to suss that out then.
trotter58 Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Five Live interview: 'If you don't compete, you don't win nothing' Garry Megson. Football genius.
TheWanderer1958 Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Totally agree - the fee for Anelka was good business but we needed a replacement before we let him go - all our rivals have players who can score goals No way was that good business..... The club gambled we could stay up with a lesser replacement, except we did not get any kind of replacement. Thus short term win 15 mil, long term lose a f*ck lot more.
Guest westmidswhite Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 He can rest more than a few. Heck, he can put his reserve side out; they'd still win the match. We will lose by at LEAST 4 on Wednesday Oh by the way I cant see us scoring but I cant see us scoring again Apart from Cahill BAD signings again CLEAR OUT NEW MANAGER FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND HALF THE PRICE OF THE SEASON TICKETS OR NOBODY WILL GO
Smiffs Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Not normally a betting man but I'm having ?20 on a draw and ?10 on a win against Utd. They were next to cack against Derby, have bigger fish to fry in the coming weeks, and our lot will be getting a roasting for the next 3 days off Lord Megson. Just you see.....
Tyler Durden Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Diouf was taken off cus he was kicking off in the tunnel with Michael Brown after the incident where he (Brown) dived just before halftime. I would pay Allardyce anything he wanted to come back for the last 9 games

What sticks in my throat is those harsh words at half time talk didn't make much difference did they!
cbwfcd Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 I know its dire at the moment, i'm ragging pissed off that we couldn't beat 10 men wigan, but whinging never solved anything. Weve got Megson until the end of the season and sacking him now is not the answer. Get behind the team until after the chelsea match, they might suprise us, get on their backs and were definently doomed.

That's a bit generous for us, isn't it?
Whites man Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 That first half was as bad as it gets. Pretty down after watching that today, there's the whiff of relegation about the place.
