The writing's been on the wall for weeks- Megson's usual line about the confidence not being low and the players' effort being great is utter drivel. The evidence is there for all to see.

Tactically inept; the same style with three managers; long ball, poor passing and virtually no goal threat. His honeymoon period passed and he's showing his true colours.

 

As for not replacing Anelka, he himself said money was available irrespective of his sale, so most of the additions could still have been made; but he singularly failed to line up a replcement for a guy who's transfer was 'done' weeks before it actually happened- if no replacement could be found then Anelka should not have been sold- and Megson as the manager should have ensured one or the other.

The players have clearly lost belief.

 

Perhaps Diouf's replacement is evidence of unrest in the camp?
