I left early when we were playing Southampton in the Cup at Burnden becasue I was working abroad and had to get a flight from Ringway. We were 2-0 down and after I left scored 2 to equalise in the last few minutes. I've always thought of offering my services to the club on the same basis since.

In my case, to see if i've got any hair left

Yawn.

All sorted now, think it was just a temporary thing.

only happened since tv's were left on in second half. switch em off 15mins before the end if you ask me............

it is embarasing seeing an empty stadium as soon as the ref blows the whistle..

fans that go 3/4 timers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

didn't you

1 leave a game at half time which we drew 3-3

2 leave ot 2 seasons back about 10 minutes in

3 get home from portsmouth before full time

JSL

I left ten minutes from time on Boxing Day 2002.

The reason being i couldn't face the possibility of watching Newcastle getting a 4-4 draw after trailing 1-4 with 27 minutes left.

That was a cracker. Cemented my hatred for Shearer aswell that day.

Not heard it called Ringway for years.

Sake with t'hospital, no-one seems to call it Townleys any more.

I leave as soon as it looks like the Scum are going to run us ragged.

I left with about half an hour to play when we got slapped by City the week before the Carling Cup final - I figured if the players couldn't be arsed then neither could I.

EDIT: Oh aye, and Tranmere away in the League Cup for much the same reason.

I left early when Fulham battered us 3-0 in 1991. I had things to do, and I didn't fancy us for getting four in the last twenty minutes.

I did, however, stick around for the duration when 46,000 saw us lose 3-0 at home to Darlington on Bonfire Night in 1985.

Now you see, I'm going to go off topic here. How's Townley's the Royal hospital now, just because it's the only one now (and 2 motorway junctions away if you live my way so I would go to Chorley as it's half the distance & much cleaner anyway). Wasn't th'Infirmary called that as it was opened by a proper royal person? It's still Townley's in my world!

It's all b?llocks!

Rant over!

i left early against Stoke and missed their goal.

i just fancied another beer.

missed our goal at Blackburn a few years back - Bo Hansen I think scored.

dunno why, just got bored and left.

Football has ruined many a good day.

Boozing, I cannot recall, has ever done the same.

The latter hence gets priority in all but extreme circumstances.

See, that's the thing with beer.

You remember drinking it, but recall in any more detail than that is often a tricky business.

When Bolton Royal infirmary was closed, someone somewhere asked nicely someone else who was ITK down south if the Royal patronage or nomenclature or whatever it is could be transferred. This got the the thumbs up from Lizzie & Phil, and thus Townleys became the Royal Bolton Hospital

Gonk - not very ITK but seems to recall the story from the BEN
