December 20, 200817 yr Collymore banging on about Bolton fans being a disgrace for booing Megson during the game.......was I at a different game? no booing took place in the game I watched.
December 20, 200817 yr Collymore banging on about Bolton fans being a disgrace for booing Megson during the game.......was I at a different game? no booing took place in the game I watched. I heard a little ripple when he subbed Ricky which was quickly drowned out by claps. Other than that, I didn't hear owt. Not even a bell!
December 20, 200817 yr Didnt hear any booing. Did hear some "Megson give us a wave chants though". 2 Faced c**ts
December 21, 200817 yr Collymore banging on about Bolton fans being a disgrace for booing Megson during the game.......was I at a different game? no booing took place in the game I watched. Yeah I heard this too ont radio on way home. It gave the impression Megson had mentioned something but can't find any quotes. I'd be disappointed if he has as I didn't hear anything during the game.
December 21, 200817 yr heard loads of media, mainly radio, talking about bolton fans booing megson its all bollox, nowt but applause today, from the east upper anyway
December 21, 200817 yr Collymore banging on about Bolton fans being a disgrace for booing Megson during the game.......was I at a different game? no booing took place in the game I watched. In the second half there were a few chants of Riga from people who wanted an attacking substitution to take advantage of Pompey's weakened defence with Glenn Johnson missing. When a substitution was made,it was a negative one bringing off Gardner for Muamba. That decision got some boos by at a guess 200 people,it was not very loud. Once the point had been made,it quickly turned to claps and cheers for Gardners' performance.

I'd be disappointed if he has as I didn't hear anything during the game. I heard the Megson interview later on on the same Talksport show, he explained that Gardner was knackered and then said we created just as many chances with 5 in midfield. Said that the booing was aimed at him and that it was somat he had gotten used to at his time here or words to that effect. The way he and then collymore went on about it I thought it had been a cauldron of booing. On another point watching football first, when we went two up, why did the commentator keep harping on about pompey rather than how good bolton where playing? more southern bias imo. December 21, 200817 yr In the second half there were a few chants of Riga from people who wanted an attacking substitution . 2-1 up and you want to put Riga on who couldn't tackle a decent dinner. There were a few who were there but a little confused.
December 21, 200817 yr Replaced a tired Gardner with Muamba was a good move IMO. It made us defensively stronger, whilst we still continued to make chances to miss!

December 21, 200817 yr Anyone who booed the substitution is a idiot and knows nothing about football. That is all.
December 21, 200817 yr Anyone who shouts for Riga to be introduced knows nothing about managers digging their heels in. Even if riga was about to play, Megson would have decided on someone else just so it didn't look as though the crowd were influencing his decisions.
December 21, 200817 yr in place of who? I don't know. The people were chanting Riga. The chant wasn't Riga for Davies. It was just Riga My choice would have been Smolarek for Elmander with 25-30 minutes to go,i thought Elmander wouldnt have scored if he played all night. When it got to only 7 minutes from time Muamba for Gardner was a safe choice but it meant if Pompey equalised we wouldn't have scored a 3rd.
December 21, 200817 yr There was no Megson booing yesterday. Collymore should stick to his dogging the brummie prick.

Yep, thought much the same thing myself. No point moaning about missed chances if we won't put a goalscorer on the pitch. Maybe he's not good enough for the Prem, but we'll never know till he gets some games.

Elmander is our inform striker taking him off for someone with hardly any prem practise in search of a goal makes little or no sense
December 21, 200817 yr Elmander is our inform striker taking him off for someone with hardly any prem practise in search of a goal makes little or no sense Exactly, and who is more likely to keep the ball in Pompeys half and take the pressure off, Elmander or Smolarek? If anybody I would like to see Obadeyi come on, just stick the ball in behind their tired defence in the last 5/10 minutes n let him use his pace to get on to it.
December 21, 200817 yr Anyone who booed the substitution is a idiot and knows nothing about football. That is all. not really fair i thought ricky was a constant threat, i think people were disapointted he was subbed. hence the booing (not from me) this quickly turned into applause for his performance. megson says he was knackered so fair enough but you can not expect people to know that.
December 21, 200817 yr That beating off Todd must of messed his brains up . Who listens to a girl beating , pervert anyway . The pundits cant give bolton credit , thats all its about . People dont like writing about the way we played so have to make a mountain out of a molehill. Gardner was shattered and megson made the right choice . 3 points in the bag proved it .
December 22, 200817 yr GARY Megson was upset by boos from the Reebok crowd after he substituted Ricardo Gardner in the 2-1 victory over Portsmouth on Saturday. The Jamaican was hauled off eight minutes from time for Fabrice Muamba after a man-of-the-match performance. But Megson claims that the switch was not a tactical one, and expressed his frustration at the fans? response. ?I was disappointed with the crowd?s reaction after taking Ricardo off,? he said after the game. ?Stevie Wonder could have seen that he was tiring. Never had him down as a comedian.

Never had him down as a comedian. Several players looked tired near the end. That's worrying. And Gardner was our only quick tricky outlet, while KD, Taylor & Elmander all stayed on. Still, Megson's there to make these decisions and we won.
December 22, 200817 yr Elmander is our inform striker taking him off for someone with hardly any prem practise in search of a goal makes little or no sense Who said take Elmander off ? Muamba could have come on for Taylor, for example. Ricky, however tired, seemed to have more pressure-relieving pace & trickery left in his legs than any of the front three.

December 22, 200817 yr If Gardener looked tired, then Elmander was nearly asleep - he looked fooked. I've have taken him off with 10 to go, put Davies upfront & brought Smolarek on. JSL.
