Anyone work for the council or other agency who can get me off?

Sorry micky the rules are you must park 'wholly' within the white line even your wheel being on the line constitutes an offence. thanks to Barry Moss and his ilk the council has checked and re checked all the rules and regs for their car parks. so i doubt you'd get off.

 

The office is on Chorley street car park you could try going in there and pleading your case.

Why is it an offence though? Does it really matter if your car is a bit skew-whiff in a space as long as you have paid?

 

I got done last week in Wigan, apparently my car was parked on a restricted street, even though it was in the car park overspill with a valid ticket in the window, twats!

out of interest, which car park? i got a ticket on "octagan surface" which is the old job centre car park behind the old odeon, for the hideous crime of having the pay and display ticket on the dash (fully visible) and not stuck on the windscreen! saw the attendant looking at the van when i came back, then i saw the ticket on the windscreen. this attendant said he was only looking at the ticket to see the offence code as he could quite clearly see the ticket on the dash as was wondering why his colleague had given me a ticket, then proceded to say " well it does say to be displayed on the windscreen" went to that parking shop on chorley st and filled in an appeals form and just waiting to hear now, but in there they also said that it wasnt on the windscreen so its technically a correct fine!

no wonder the place is full of boarded up shops and pound stretchers!

People who give these tickets out are too shit to get a proper job, and were clearly bullied at school.

T'other week when it had done a bit of snowing in the morning, and you couldn't see the white lines, people were parked all over the place. In the afternoon when it had pssed it down and you could see the lines there must have been half a dozen with tickets in that car park behind the New Zealand Chief.
