Wonder if he's ever calm enough to praise the contribution of black music and acting; sporting achievements etc all of which add to the richness of our lives. We all have our contribution to make and some are just better suited to building monuments. As you said, Smiffers - a bit deep.

I've only watched it the once but I'm sure he only points out that Obama is not "the first black President" because he isn't, by true definition, black. How is that racist?

How is that racist? If you didn't know he had a white parent would you tuly have known he was mixed race? How pure does blood have to be to be recognised as being of a certain colour/culture? In Jewish culture the daughter of a natural born Jewess is Jewish, even if her father is of another faith. I also, work with an Asian girl who's skin is a similar colour as me & I'm not Asian. He's black.

The preacher in the video obviously isn't as easy going as me......... but that doesn't make him a racist. If Obama nailed his creed to the mast, and that was then denied, I could see how that could be seen as racist (mildly). So far as I know, he has never done so.

If he has suffers the prejudices much of the USofA offers to blacks because he has one black parent then to me, he is black.

Given some close releative of his was one of the first white men in Africa to install the telephone line and had seen first hand what it was like, it must have been true. At a similar point in my life Carl Lewis swept the board at the LA Olympics and I struggled to understand how on earth it could happen.

When studying Sociology (what I did that for I really don't know) we did a bit of work into the black ghettos in America. Anyhow, I really can't remember the bloke who did the paper but it was a similar argument than the Rev's on that clip. He stated that other cultures & societies built up their own like microworlds, one example being the using shops and services of people of the same creed thus creating employment & housing within their own areas. Anyway, he stated the black buy & live in houses owned from the whites and the Jews and until they become self sufficient on their own areas then they will always be beholden to the white man. It was all interesting and compelling stuff. Right, now, I'll take my studious head off and put my Sunday tea one on in a Wurzel stylee!
