Zat Knight

Just been told from the same source that told me about Cahill for England and Sean Davis signing, that we have put in a bid for Zat Knight.

I don't know anything else like how much etc.

Good signing if it comes off IMO.

How about having a squad made up of mainly established English young-ish capable players and then, just for a bit of fun throwing in a couple of names that fall into the category of our previous "galacticos" and maybe a couple of speedy wingers as a gamble.

Surely as a Premiership side we should, despite Megson, be able to attract a bit more than we are currently.

I wonder whether our scouting system is worth a jot when all we'd need to do is ring the Premiership sides and see if they've anyone they don't need/want.

We're 6 days into the window and we've signed one player, how do you know what we're attracting currently?

I've not seen enough of ZK to comment on him but the Villa season ticket holder i work with laughed his bollocks off today and said he hopes we sign him because he's absolutely fcuking shite.

The same was said of OB when he came and apart from last year has done all right

I seem to recall that they where not to arsed about Cahill leaving

JayJay, Campo, Youri et al , did not sign for BWFC because of this charismatic manager called Sam Allardyce. In fact they more than likely had never heard of him (or Bolton Wanderers for that matter) until their agents approached them with the sound of crinkly greenbacks in their ears.

If they had been offered the same contract at that time with a manager called Gary Megson they would still have signed.

They all mentioned the vision Sam had for the club that persuaded them to join Bolton and not other clubs Zozzy. i'm not sure Youri was short of a bob or two. Megson would never entertain having such players at the club, he's more comfortable at managing good honest grafters, he'd be the first to admit.

theyre hardly likely to say 'i'm here for the money'

in fact, didnt youri leave cos we wouldn't pay him enough?

i think also the lure of playing in the premier league was the main factor but credit for BSA getting them here. They certainly raised the profile of the club more than we appreciate.

Youri was god, never heard about that money issue. Just doff your cap to the legend

You're having a laugh. Some of them still haven't forgiven O'Neill.

IIRC, his motivation was that he'd fallen out of favour at Kaiserslauten, & wanted to see if he could force his way into a world cup squad.

Granted, from what Youri said when he joined, Allardyce showed him the plans for the club, and asked him advice - in other words, fed his ego. It convinced him to sign, so Allardyce did his job well. But, as Cas points out, he was also very well paid. He was offered another season but chose to decline it.

aye, that's pretty much it as i recall

was being a b?t of a tw?t at kaiserslauten and was frozen out the sqaud

think the contract offered was based on fact he prob wouldn't play every week as he was knocking on and sam didn't think he had a full season left in him

went to blackburn, didn't see the season out

don't think he even made christmas did he?

best player i've seen in a bolton shirt

is a long way from home

I agree with everything John Thomas says here.

It doesn't contradict anything I have said. I am a massive fan of what Big Sam has done for our Club.

I am missing that peepingTom Bwfc fella, I thought he was alreet

You can ban that tosser mickbrown though ;)

He's right though

Bolton fans are as fickle as all football fans.

But we've got a great number of wankers who claim to be superfans by slagging those who dare to complain.

Posters that complain or are not happy with certain things that happen at the Club or on the pitch should be allowed to put their views forward on a fans' messageboard like this without being slagged off.

just as posters that continously abuse the club/manager/players/fans on the said messageboard, just because the missus wont give them a nosh, should be prepared to be ridiculed accordingly.

I've heard that Zat Knight is a done deal but it relies on Villa signing a centre back first, probably Distin from Portsmouth.

Please stop promoting the King of cocks, Richard McCormick

They should've done it about Michael Knight, then of course our next target could've been Kitt Symons :pardon:

Who?

Funny how people on here thought Zat was a bag of shite the other month.
